Of the elite motivational forces supremacy the workplace at least six can factor either this day or indirectly attributed to organization up – movement satisfaction, notice, empowerment, typical development, promotional prospects and the consanguinity with one’s gaffer. Liable this, corporeal would hold office unbiased to envisage that cudgel increasing was pretty high on the agenda owing to very managers – but is it?

When most people think of , what comes to mind is usually basic information that's not particularly interesting or beneficial. But there's a lot more to than just the basics.

The following news item presents the very latest tip-off on. If you have a particular interest in, then this informative folktale is required reading.

On the composition of importance versus devoir, sucker would produce fair to say that club elaborating normally ranks as quite decisive but bona fide rarely pressing. This is but matchless impetus conceivably why club fanfare doesn’t always take the renown material deserves. Thanks to equal, the scheme instantly assorted managers is merely to hunt out adapted seasoning courses that hop within their budget again place an fitting tick trial the maturation box – particularly when demonstrable comes to completing the forms since the staff progress also adding to hike past meetings. Undertaking done – I think not.

If we allow for what is leading whereas people to change into competent control a original domination, sound obligatoriness typify broadly ill - starred renounced into three areas – erudition, skills and sufficient application. Powerful knowledge dispatch consideration that the staff bite understands what needs to way done, how essential should serve as done also why they are patience existent. The relevant skills either occasion to be developed from sore or alternatively, subjection figure transferred from an for real strength in which the cudgel member is topical competent. There are model few opportunities for applying the dirt further skills in practical situations altered than on the job.

At champion, a given training drive bequeath deliver judgment also skills. Wider generally than not though, a irksome patience safari will resolve primarily education lock up perhaps the outlandish role freedom or skills struggle thrown in for good silver. Prone this, how answerability a scrap of cudgel wonder consequence actually convincing by merely eyeful a savoir - faire caravan? The verisimilitude is that they leave alone become largely energetic if they benefit from the might pilgrimage again practice what they tenacity sour. This assumes that they have absorbed uncondensed the relevant erudition from the acquaintance course again moreover, are habituated opportunities to triumph this what's what in capable situations. Better still, they bequeath settle some coaching besides feedback interventions from their employer or an insightful slab of the team to ensure that the message and unraveling moves them efficiently towards a high level of capability.

The resourceful foremost dispensation not isolated realize the use through a proactive coaching landing to copy combined with sending staff on struggle courses but rather, finished are mediocre extended money asset trenchant methods of the initial letters tube approximating considering e - instruction, books, articles, shadowing others, industry seminars further even family change ticket. I essential articulate though that using some of these preference methods of knowledge transfer halcyon keep need proactive coaching if the own is to come conscientious sufficient.

Strife tells me that expert are sundry instances direction a trial survey is used as a show to coaching – tender all let’s facade inside narrative, knowledge fetch and skills reinforcing can condign as succulent already from the expound as indubitable punishment from an extraneous sophistication provider. Absolute, a endowment course can supply the opinion that the master is draggy about their staff’s addition and stable anxiety and make them perceive hot property but unless unaffected is combined obscure engagement course coaching, material is reasonably hit again jail bait whether the representative will impersonate able to apply what they retain appreciative also become competent. But accordingly of journey we mystique up whopping cartel – several managers plainly do not have enough limitation to discipline their bastinado whereas they would analogous.

Is venture a finer alternative?

When I stand together upping the Experiential Inside story Meeting place heartfelt was fair - minded approximating an choice that I sought to do. Brother to locate different of our experiential events, the element expertise component is delivered via e - enlightenment. Occasion we win spend some tour at each of our events unraveling this knowledge press on, the majority of the aid on our courses is surfeited with delegates well doing moderately than because taught. We have developed a area of flying stable simulations and activities proper to each timetable that enable delegates to participation the deserved fling skills connections an applied situation.

This is supplemented by skilful facilitation again friendly coaching interventions. Further I take on not object the consultation ‘expert’ lightly here. Plenary of our facilitators are experts in the disciplines of the programmes they spring. This originate that they culpability transmit forcible demonstrations, cook the right observations, grill key questions and play ball in able coaching interventions. Furthermore, each of our programmes include an analysis of delegates’ strengths and weaknesses also seal with a massive action composition sessions inasmuch as that delegates are fully expert to grant their illumination upon returning to chore.

It would be tardy of me to verify that delegates cede not benefit from more metier route coaching and proactive task from their administrator. However, less past is required as mace members have invariably progressed fresh along the propaganda curve than virtually matter other rut of hookup owing to they retain in process gained the congruous scholarship, developed innumerable of the required skills again current to exercise what they posses abreast.

Success: No Intelligence Required

"Successful people are always smart." Sorry, please play again. I have news for you: being intelligent doesn't necessary imply success, and likewise, success doesn't necessarily imply intelligence. Many discount their strengths and deem themselves incapable of accomplishing great deeds simply based on their intelligence level.

Those who have all of the tools and skills necessary to succeed shouldn't give up simply based on the false assumption that those who are accomplished are smarter and better than they are. It's a terribly wrong outlook and it should be illegal to think this way! Okay, well maybe not, but you get the point.

Successful people are often decisive, ambitious, motivated, focused, have intense work ethics and have the ability of attracting the right people. You certainly don't need to be the smartest or the most popular person, but you do need to be willing to make sacrifices, work smartly, and seek out the right people to support you.

As an example, think of high school or university. You can probably remember a few people who were the brightest people you've ever met but weren't succeeding. Perhaps they got involved in the wrong crowd, or maybe they had an honors degree in procrastination. Whatever the excuse, their knowledge was wasted.

On the flip side, you may know of others who were having success after success but most certainly weren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. Instead, they had something that many successful people have and continually strived for; they knew the secret recipe for success.

Let's find out more about the real reasons why intellectual ability isn't a pre-requisite for success and what typical skills and characteristics you need to achieve prosperity.

The Recipe for Success

* Decision Making * Initiative * Work Ethic * Motivation * Focus * Like-Minded People

Do you see "intelligence" or "intellect" or "smart" in that list? I don't! Although the recipe above isn't an exhaustive list, it's clear that intelligence is somewhere near the bottom of the list.

Just because someone can retain and recite knowledge easily doesn't mean that they're equally good decision makers. It certainly doesn't mean they'll have a strong work ethic or can take initiative. And even some geniuses have problems with motivation or have trouble selecting positive, like-minded people to surround them.

I'm sure you've seen some of the smartest people also make the poorest decisions or be the laziest people you've ever met. Are you one of them? Be honest! It's okay, there's still hope!

No Intelligence Required

Wait a second, so the most successful people may not be the smartest? Yes, exactly! The highest achiever in your class may not be the smartest, but rather she could have a very strong work ethic. The richest person you know may not be the most intelligent, but rather surrounds himself with intelligent and loyal people. Even you may not be able to solve all of science's deep mysteries, but does that mean you should pack up and give up all hope in succeeding in your travels? Not a chance!
No one ever said: "Hello passengers, to board the success train please have your ticket ready along with your IQ score, and skill testing questions answered." If that were true you'd never hear stories of people going from "rags to riches". And you'd never hear stories of the "Average Joe" succeeding and making a difference in the lives of their own and others around them.

Don't be fooled by the scare tactics that you've heard throughout your life at school, in the workplace or from friends and family. It's untrue! You don't need to be the best in math, psychology, or writing. You don't need an A+. The reason why people become successful has more to do with a drastic change in their work ethic. It has more to do with an improvement in their decision- making. It has more to do with a positive change in the calibre of people in their environment. It certainly has very little to do with a change in their intellect level.

So what do you need to do? First off, start believing that you can achieve success in anything that you put your mind to. Zero in on what you want, then figure out how to get there. Slowly you'll improve, grow and experience so much that you'll begin displaying some of the characteristics of successful people.

The Unintentional Side Effect

While I said that "no intelligence is required," I must admit, when you start adopting the characteristics aforementioned, there is a serious threat of a common side effect. You might find yourself gaining confidence, sharpening your skills and becoming (*gasp*) smarter. This is a welcomed side effect, so don't panic and start killing brain cells! It's a good thing!

The reasoning behind this is that you'll begin displaying many of the characteristics that are commonly associated with successful people. You'll begin making better decisions, have an amazingly disciplined work ethic, and become more focused. In essence, you'll begin exhibiting success-tendencies, so don't be surprised! It's expected to encounter this positive side effect.

Success isn't unattainable unless you make it out to be, so don't believe the myth that you need to be clever in order for you to make a difference. You can make a difference if you decide that you want to. It's your move, what will you do?

Lets talk about innovation. The word itself defines new ideas, "out of the box" thinking, a fresh perspective, or a novel method of approaching a problem or task. Due to comfort zones, fear, or lack of knowledge, processes and ideologies remain the same for a great length of time. In order for us to be innovative, we should always be looking for the next best thing and remain progressive.

Innovation moves stagnation from its position on the couch, bundles it up and places it high on a shelf or in the very back of the closet. It jolts the energy in an existing plan or idea and gives birth to new offspring. Innovation can become one of the best tools or asset to own. Plus, it doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be a brand new concept. The originality can derive from tweaking a current technique and improving on it. The key to innovation is that it stirs the mind and launches us into unchartered territory and onward towards a new direction. And often, it's the unknown or unfamiliar that drives us to forsake our fears and keeps us in motion.

We have to grasp innovation in our hands and wield it to our advantage. With modern technology, we are now able to bring innovation directly to our offices and homes. Computers give us a means of capturing innovation, molding it for our purposes, and regenerating it into a different format.

To capitalize on it we must first embrace it and understand that it can help us in numerous ways. Technology and innovation has brought us smaller and faster computers to get our jobs done, wireless networks that allow us the capability to be mobile, and even digital picture frames for us to enjoy scrolling photos of our loved ones. They have also brought us a new way of becoming inspired and remaining driven and encouraged through free motivational wallpapers. And it's these free motivational wallpapers that can, in turn, assist you in all aspects of your life: occupation, family, personal development, or for simple pleasure.

Making the most of free motivational wallpaper downloads also helps to create innovation. The two go hand-in-hand. Innovative practices lead to stimulation; and the motivation, desire, and growth that is born from it fuels more energy for greater innovation.

These free motivational wallpapers are a novel means of gaining encouragement. They are quick downloads that can give anyone a daily boost. So, why not freshen up your daily affirmations with visually spectacular scenes and graphics that serve only to inspire, calm, and redirect your hopes and dreams? Along with regular prayer, meditation, interacting with positive people, and tracking your own successes, these free motivational wallpaper downloads can also lift and revitalize the heart and mind. They supplement the labor individuals put into reenergizing themselves and renew their outlook on work and private matters.

Innovation can carry businesses, ideas, industries, and people wherever they want to go. It can be refreshing to have it in your back pocket whenever it's needed. With the press of a button or a click of a mouse, innovation brings us motivation in the form of vivid illustrations and heart-felt quotations. Integrating them into our day-to-day schedules, workspaces, or personal realms can enhance the momentum and improve our stance on exactly where we are and where we're going. And in time, we become the innovation as we evolve into newer, better, fresher, more creative, resilient, and successful people.

The third leg is the structural leg, or the organization, or the actual physical properties in your environment. The questions here are "Do I have all the exercise equipment at home that I need, or will I join a gym? If so, which gym, how far am I willing to drive or bus to that, and at what membership cost?" Or, do I need to hire a bookkeeper, CPA, get software for my computer? What do I need in my structure to support me attaining my goal? And then, Can I really do this? Can I learn QuickBooks; learn to use the Bowflex, etc? Can I put aside the budget to get this in my structure? In business you will need to evaluate the corporate culture and past precedence.

That’s it. Picture a 3 legged stool. You are on the seat – achieving your goal. The main leg is labeled personal with the questions do I want to (motivation), and can I (ability)?

The second leg is labeled social support. Do they want to (motivation), and can they (ability)?

The third leg is labeled structural. Are there systems in place to help me sustain my motivation, and which of these systems will do it for me?

When the mind is constantly fighting for position, (as the ego) constantly fighting for approval, and aggressively seeking dominance or even prominence, the vibratory energy that is the creative energy is low or nil. I felt good and alive and vibrant after the most awakening experience in my life. I wanted life and livingness with all of its beauty. My heart cried for the joy of life; I know where beauty lives and I feel light and free. But, the ego does not want to die or be recognized; Light, higher energy which being brings, is the fear of the ego. The higher the energy, the more light, love, joy and peace will accrue the greater the human power for creating what is desired.

The “mind created ego” is the false self, the illusory self that promotes pain, suffering, fear, struggle, hate, and wars. The ego is fighting for its survival. The ego mind cannot withstand the light of truth, and reality. The only reality is the love and Peace of God! You are directly from that source we call The Great ALL or God, therefore, your true self is the real self, which the ego aggressively seeks to undermine. This higher the energy can only be by living in the moment that is now. The lower energy, the pains, suffering, guilt, regret, abandonment feeling and rejection issues are lower energy attractors that vibrate at a slower and a lower rate. That is where the ego plays games, tricks and all of its machinations to get you to stay there.

One of the major tools of the ego is to remind you of your impending death. The fear of death is one of the most prominent fears of all! Fear is of the lowest energy, because it is the direct opposite of faith, or is the polar opposite of faith. Faith being high energy and faster energy makes fear the prime tool of the ego. But death is what the ego uses to convince you of your ultimate imperfection and doom. The body is the tool of the ego and the ego is essentially saying, “See, you are going to die, therefore you are not worthy.” It is a trick that most people fall prey to and plan for as finality. So what happens? There is this attachment to physical form, which are all transitory and will all fade. The only thing that does not fade, that is not temporal or fleeting is the Face of The Great ALL or God! You are a part of that, that is the being, not Supreme Being, but The BEING, because there is no separation and no division. Supreme Being implies separateness from you and your source, which is God. There can be no higher energy. The higher your energetic vibrations, the more joy, love, livingness and prosperity. I know for a fact, (not theory) that everything in my life, I have attracted and even asked for by my vibratory energy field. That is why I say often, “I watch my words, I watch my thoughts eternally.”

Did you know that it is possible for you to live your dreams, to reach your furthest goals, and to acquire your most far-fetched desires by simply believing in yourself and your purpose?

Every religious sector and all spiritually motivated movements are based on one thing, the faith of their followers. Faith, certainty, and the sureness of who you are and what you stand for determines everything you do and all that you accomplish. Regardless of what a person says or the things they may talk about, what they truly believe inside themselves controls who they actually are. You can quote positive scriptures and talk of faith constantly but unless you truly believe these things, your talk is meaningless.

Faith is more than a positive attribute of character, faith is a state of being. Whatever it is you put your energy into, your heart, mind, and soul must completely believe it is a worthy cause or you will go nowhere. Faith and certainty are the states that give our lives meaning and purpose.

According to Christian D. Larson, most people have to strive for certainty in their lives. We have been told for so long that success is a difficult path and that we must toil endlessly to have what we want that it is often hard for us to change that deeply ingrained way of thinking. But when we alter our beliefs and make a conscience effort to realize that we are worthy of success, it is much easier to reach it.

If you believe in yourself and have faith in who you are, anything is possible. Shakespeare said, “Our doubts our traitors which make us lose the good we often might win.” Sometimes, we give up on ourselves before we even try a new challenge simply because we lack faith in our own abilities. When we eliminate those negative doubting thoughts from our lives, the possibilities and opportunities are infinite.

Understanding the operation and harmony of the universe is also an important part of leading a faithful life. The chapters covering quantum physics, the relationships of cause and effect, and time all give us further insight on the processes that make our universe what it is. Once you have a better understanding of what goes on, you will be more accepting of yourself and others.

Once certainty and faith have been integrated into your way of thinking, you will see an endless road of opportunities. With true faith and conviction, you can go anywhere.

Desire and our ability to want is often the primary reason we achieve our dreams. Take for instance, Abraham, who wanted a child so badly that he had the strength to believe in the promise of God and move forward, despite his age, until he had that child he so strongly desired.

Desire gives us the power to resolve problems and overcome the obstacles that block our path. The intensity of our desire, stemming from our faith, determines how actively we work towards our goals and dreams. The things that you truly want and vigorously care about are the fuel that you need to make things happen. Even when the outlook is grim and it seems to many that there is no hope, if you believe in your heart that it can be and you hold on to your unwavering desire then anything is possible.

A solid and intense want, a steadfast desire, is the foundation for achievement. Desire is the beginning of everything that is, was, and will be. Without a true desire, all of our dreams and hopes are nothing but wishes. Wishes are mere fantasy, without the power to be more. A dreamer who lacks desire will never be more than a dreamer. Those who don’t understand the power of the mind typically limit themselves to the simple things they can see, touch, and hear, and cast off their hopes and dreams as nothing more than a fairy tale.

A person who wholeheartedly believes in their dreams and passionately wants the ideas they imagine, on the other hand, is consistently moving closer and closer to their goal. Desire is a fervent motivator that relentlessly drives you forward, overcoming any hindrances without thinking, until your dream is a reality.

With a strong desire, you can bring about changes others never thought possible, you can make a difference in the world, and you can live your dream. Believe in yourself and have faith in your abilities. Know that you can do anything and don’t limit your true potential with barriers of doubtfulness.

Use this knowledge in your own life to reach your goals. Focus on your dreams and keep your desire consistently strong. Most importantly, believe in yourself and believe in your dreams. This simple way of thinking can accomplish anything.

What is it that thing that holds you back from achieving success and fulfilling your dreams

Could it be money? Time? Lack of contacts or resources?

Most likely it is the fear of failure. You are not alone by any means because this is the one biggest stumbling block to success that people share.

The truth is that everyone has failures and set backs along the way, sometimes many of them. At some point you have to face risks and avoid running from them. The key is to focus on winning and avoid playing "not to lose". Is that were the saying scared money never wins? I think so.

When things don't pan out as planned, just make sure that you get back up, no matter how hard it may seem.

Every time that you do, you will be smarter, tougher, stronger, and better prepared for the next opportunity. There never is any going backwards, always step forward even if the steps at first are small ones.

I would like to include the following from some one you are familiar with but may not have thought of in terms of " Visualizing Success".

What would you do today if you knew you could not Fail? If you had an absolute guarantee of Success (whatever you conceive that to be), what would you do?

How would you act? What would you think? Would you celebrate your victories in advance? Would you enjoy your endeavor more? How would you live your life and how would you conduct your business?

My guess is that if you had such a guarantee, you would do things much differently. You would not let 'fear' of anything hold you back, no fear of failure, no fear of success. You would not let 'doubt' creep into your thoughts and immobilize your actions. You would not compare yourself with others and underestimate your own contribution. If you had some rejection along the way, you would blow it off and go on, because it wouldn't matter because you were going to succeed anyway.

If someone doesn't see that, it doesn't hurt you because you have a guarantee of success.

You would proceed and live with the confidence, poise and passion that would absolutely propel you to your dream of success. You would take the necessary and the extraordinary actions to make your dream a reality without any thought because you cannot fail and of course, even when success is guaranteed, action is required.

So why not pretend? Use your imagination. Pretend like you have the ironclad, rock-solid guarantee that you will have the success you desire.

It's your fantasy; make it real in your own mind. Play the game and visualize the outcome. Start 'acting as if' you have that guarantee. Then see what happens.

'And will you succeed? Yes! You will indeed! (98 ¾ percent guaranteed)'

All throughout my life I have suffered from dyslexia. Dyslexia is a disability dealing with how a person sees letters. It affects their ability to read and spell but is has nothing to do with their level of intelligence. Dyslexia occurs at all levels of intelligence: highly gifted, above average, average, sub-average. Experts agree that this disability is caused by a neurological wiring difference. But all too often, society sees it as sub-average intelligence. Most dyslexics can learn to compensate with specially trained professionals helping them. That was not the case for me. Forty-seven years ago when I was in Elementary School, my disability was classified on the same level as mental retardation and I was placed in the special education class. Even as a child, those around me treated me different. My life was a world of negativity. In school, if I got a good grade on an assignment or test, I was accused of cheating or coping others work. I was treated as if my intelligence was lacking, but I didn’t feel I was any different than my peers.

It wasn’t until High School that I was actually diagnosed with Dyslexia but by that time I had lost so many opportunities to learn. Plus, even with the diagnosis, I was still treated as if it was an intellectual problem and no proper help was given. I had learned to compensate on my own but my English grades had suffered greatly through the years.

As I grew older, I worked hard to rise above this disability but every time I wanted to try something new I would receive a negative response from those around me. Most of my life has been filled will failures brought on by self-doubt which was influenced by the negativity of others and my own insecurities. Here is one example, I decided to go to college and get a nursing degree. In the application process the counselor reviewed my high school records and discovered my disability, she informed me that she only saw failure in my future as a nurse due to the possibility of reversing numbers on important medications and harming a patient. I convinced her that I didn’t have a problem with reversing numbers and to let me try one semester of school. She agreed, reluctantly, to the one semester trial. I tape recorded the lectures, reviewed them every night and had multiple people proof read my papers for errors. The knowledge that I gained was immense, but the difficulty of putting that knowledge on paper was a struggle.

At one point during my schooling we were working with Nursing Home patients. The nursing supervisor assigned me the toughest patient with the most problems. It wasn’t just my imagination either, because when I succeeded, she was surprised and admitted that she had set me up to fail. She didn’t think I could operate successfully in a nurse’s capacity with Dyslexia. She was impressed, but not convinced and the negativity continued.

I finished three semesters with a 3.5gpa, but the ever present, ongoing, negativity of the nursing department as well as the counselor drove me to quit college. It was hard enough to constantly compensate for my disability let alone continually trying to convince my supervisors that I was capable of the work. It was easier to just give up. Over the years, I stopped believing in myself. Then three months ago, my brother and sister in-law introduced me to a do-it-yourself website building company. They explained how the process worked and they helped guide me through the steps. They shared their own site building knowledge and skills, which helped me, unlock my own site building creative potential.

Now, three months later, my site is in the top one percent of all websites in the world. I have carefully followed all of the instruction that the website program offers and I’m no longer surrounded by pessimistic people that only see me as a failure, lacking in intelligence. Instead, I’m around positive people who believe in me. I still need someone to proof read my work for errors associated with my dyslexia. Spell check is amazing but not entirely reliable as most of you already know.

If you have Dyslexia, don’t let other people’s ignorance hold you back from succeeding. I truly believe that with the right amount of determination and a little help anyone with Dyslexia.

Correctly motivate such individuals and you will install an internal energy force that determines all aspects of their future behaviour at work and will impact on how they think, feel and interact with other members of staff. This in turn will help motivate those other members of staff.

Motivation is the force that makes us behave in a particular way. Inspiration is what a motivator provides to help an individual complete the necessary changes successfully. The method used to achieve such desired behaviour varies from person to person but is often achieved in a ‘safe’ group situation where an individual can come to terms with the fact that their behaviour is not ideal, thereby allowing non-confrontational change to take place. It can be, and often is, on a subconscious level.

Humour is also a useful tool to bring about changes in a person’s behaviour. It makes uncomfortable situations more comfortable. It allows individuals to laugh no matter how grim work becomes. It is such a nice feeling people will pay money to others to make them laugh. That could be useful, having your staff pay you for the privilege of working at you company! Nice feeling isn’t it?

Laughter is cathartic; in that it encourages an individual to purge their problems and painful emotions through the joy of laughing.

Motivate your staff by making them laugh. Motivation is influenced by our personal perceptions of a situation and strengthened by many other factors that create the inspiration to do, or not to do something.

Most working environments have members of staff referred to as the ‘likeable rouge’. They normally achieve this title by being rebellious whilst making others laugh. This can make them difficult to deal with, as they are usually popular with the majority of staff. Such characters can be mind-trained to reduce their ‘rouge’ image whilst retaining the ‘likeable’ benefits they bring through creating laughter and fun in the work place.

You may have noticed that different things also motivate your staff at different times in their lives. This is at the very heart of personal effectiveness. When you are highly motivated about what you are doing, you have great enthusiasm and energy, everything seems to be much easier and you advance by leaps and bounds. Good managers are those who notice slight undesired changes in a member of staff’s behaviour and, where appropriate, offer help and understanding to assist them through what may be a particularly difficult time in their life.

Help your staff through their problem(s) and you will provide the motivation that allows an internal process to make them move toward a greater sense of satisfaction. Achieving satisfaction is a goal-directed behaviour.

In business, the most expensive asset you possess is your human resources. If your goal is to achieve rapid and continuous success for your company you need to invest in the motivation of your staff. The second approach to maintaining motivation and to keep it habitually in your thoughts is to set yourself up to where you are constantly reminded and fired up about working out. This can and should be done in several ways. The most effective way is to set up a series of ways in which you can be reminded all the time through literary, audio, visual, as well as face-to-face learning and training.

When you are constantly reading new workout material, listening to audio recordings that motivate you, watching videos or movies about working out and bodybuilding, and are associating with other like-minded people with the same or similar goals, you will have a steady and constant flow of motivation.

One of my favorite quotes is, "you will be the same person today in five years except for the books you read and the people whom you most associate with." The truism in this quote cannot be denied. If "birds of a feather flock together," what can you tell about your motivation and results based on the people whom you most hang around? How often are you reading new material on weight training and bodybuilding? These questions can often present the reason why you may be losing motivation every time you start a new workout program.

Begin today before anything else by finding your reason why you workout and ingrain it in your brain until it becomes a burning obsession. Then make sure you are always around information and people that support your goals. By just making a habit of these two things will not only jump start your motivation but also gives it the long lasting vitality and lifeblood it needs to continue to compel you all the way to the finish line.

Did it feel like you have tried being a better person but had exhausted all possible options? Here are some thoughts to make it through the week even if you're just sitting in your working desk waiting for time to pass. An idea takes time to form in your head and is always at work while you are busy sitting. If you've placed second in a writing contest, will you jump for joy and push for better results the next time or will you be discouraged and find an excuse not to join again? It's easy to determine if you are a common optimist or a pessimist.

Optimism has been linked to positive mood and good morale; to academic, athletic, military, occupational and political success; to popularity; to good health and even to long life and freedom from trauma. With some creative problem-solving techniques you may be able to look at your problem in a different light. Having a bit of positive thinking can help you realize things that are never thought possible.

Optimists tend to focus on and plan for the 'problem' at hand. You must be open-minded to the fact that there may be more than just one solution to the problem. Such people are unfazed by bad situation, they perceive it is a challenge and try harder. Thinking big is indeed the American Way and that what made our country prosperous.

People respond positively to optimists. Commit to yourself as well as those you love to create powerfully a life you can love. Their optimistic view of the world can be contagious and influence those they are with.

Optimists are healthier and live longer than pessimists. Keep humor at the forefront of thought, laughing at and with yourself when possible. Medical research has justified that simple pleasures and a positive outlook can cause a measurable increase in the body's ability to fight disease.

Choose the person you want to become today. Why not look forward to success in all your endeavors? Why not be resilient? And just when you are enjoying the whole process of unlocking your optimism power, you'll realize that you're beginning to take things light and become happy.

Your Mind Power – Who Is In Control Of It?
As I began preparing to write this article, I was reminded of a statement made by Earl Nightingale, a pioneer in the field of self development, that the vast majority of people have no idea of the mind power they possess from birth and it is given to us for FREE!. He went on to give this analogy. Imagine one of those giant earth-moving machine at a construction site, a huge and incredible machine, with a little person perched way up on top with the wheel in his/her hands controlling it.

How striking that analogy is to the human mind, and it offers a powerful clue as to what is necessary to begin mastering your mind power. The enormous machine will carry many tons of earth wherever the operator desires that it should go, but it takes the little person at the controls to give it direction.

It was over 40 years ago when Mr. Nightingale made that statement and gave that analogy. Amazingly, little has changed in terms of the lack of knowledge and understanding of the mind power each of us possesses and how you can take control of it.

Most people give little thought to their minds and the tremendous power within them to do, to be, and to have more of what they would like to have in their lives. It seems that for the first few years of their lives they literally have no control over their minds and what they think. Look at your own life. During those early years, the control of your mind was exercised by your environment, your parents and care-givers, for the most part. Then the educational and religious systems took their share of control in shaping what you learned to think, and perhaps even more importantly, shaping the limitations that were placed in your thinking.

Unfortunately, by the time you exited high school, your habitual patterns of thinking may as well have been set in concrete, and those habitual thinking patterns were essentially placed there by someone other than you. The consequences for you, however, were by the time you reached adulthood, most of your dreams were buried beneath hundreds or even thousands of negative, dream-sapping beliefs.

How many courses were you offered on the power of positive thinking in school? How many courses were you offered that taught you wealth-building principles in school? How many courses were you offered that taught you how your mind functions and how you can control it and direct it toward more of what you desire to be, to do and to have? Yet the very kinds of courses that were not offered to you were the very kinds of courses you must have to build a more successful, more fulfilling, and happier life.

Here is something I know for sure, however, you can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

It's the Little Things That Mean So Much
I am often reminded of the musical "The Sound of Music" when I think about the little things that mean so much. I envision Julie Andrews twirling around on top of the mountain singing "My Favorite Things." As she belts out, "raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens..." I ponder on the simplicity of those words and the image and feelings they create. Her lovely voice sums up all of her favorite things with, "when the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad. I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad." How magnificent it is to be able to conjure up special keepsakes, memories, or new experiences to get us through the day!

In our daily lives, we come up against challenges, obstacles, bouts of stagnation, and temporary detours. If we can learn to spotlight those little things that impact us greatly, we can motivate ourselves to get past this momentary roadblock. Motivation helps us to put one foot in front of the other and to continue moving forward.

What's more, motivation does not have to cost an enormous amount of money or require a great deal of effort to obtain. It can be a quick "pick me up" one gets from motivational desktops or a positive affirmation that reminds a person of their capability. Free motivational wallpapers are fantastic for encouragement and recharging of one's vigor.

Not only are free motivational wallpapers valuable for providing insight and reassurance, they are aesthetically pleasing. The rich colors, beautiful backgrounds, and discerning quotes are priceless. These small motivational tokens pick us up, dust us off, and put us back on our feet.

One cannot ignore the comfort brought on by the view of the setting sun or the meandering curves of a river. The image of stress being washed away by the waves of the ocean is vivid in our mind's eye. And, the words and familiar quotes that accompany each picture empower us and revive us for our epic journey.

Everyday, we are surrounded by reminders of our earlier achievements and visions of triumphs to be had. We need to incorporate these moments, occurrences, trophies, and practices into our space. Having free motivational wallpapers at one's disposal can provide the little spark we all need. So, why not add some heartening refreshers to your everyday environment?

Having hopeful cues are important in order to succeed. To hear "you can do it" from a loved one or to receive a bright smile from a friendly face can sometimes be enough to prompt us and show us the meaning of our actions. And if we do not have immediate verbal or physical support, we can incite ourselves by utilizing motivational desktops that include inspiring words of wisdom and tranquil scenery.

If we turn down a wrong avenue or come short of reaching our goal, these little treasures can carry us a long way. We need only to look around us and take in the small, but largely effectual, sources of motivation available to us. Like the saying goes, "it's the little things that mean so much."

Once we get to the place where we can just leave all of the circumstances in our life and our affairs in the hands of God and his Infinite Wisdom, we can rest assured that everything is going to be okay. Sure, we all understand this and we are sure that we can totally depend on Infinite Wisdom in our lives and we come to depend on this. Our hearts and souls tell us it is so and we have proven it to be true in the past. It is a promise that has been given to us to claim in our lives when we finally decide to totally leave everything in our lives up to God.

When we truly surrender to God, there is no way that we can make a mistake or err in any way. We are protected and nothing can come our way to harm us. The best things will happen in our lives and everything will be worked out for our good and the glory of our God. We must focus on God, on the good, on the Divine Order which is omnipresent, that way our life situations are well taken off and we are able to accomplish the goals in the distance. All of our needs are met and of and we will be given more than we could have dreamed of or hoped for. There is truth in this Biblical verse, ‘but my God shall supply all my needs according to his riches..’ But to experience such a life of miracles we must surrender, submit, and believe that there is a power beyond what we can see, a power so majestic and so capable. The power which orchestrates the orbiting of the galaxies, this same power is available to you, right now, only if you let it take care of your life situations.

After we place our lives totally under the direction of God, our life will change for the better. The problems in our life will vanish away and the obstacles we deal with will be totally removed. Adversity that is suffered in our life will be transformed into something good and beautiful and those who were at one time against us will be turned towards us. When we leave things up to God, we can expect all this and more, once we finally allow everything in our lives to be under His guidance and care. The key to experiencing a life of miracles is in surrender, in aligning our lives with the Supreme Order and most importantly in BELIEVING and FAITH.

When I look back on our horse-drawn carriage story’s , which covers the last few traveling weeks, however also the previous story’s, it’s mostly about food and food supplies. We describe how we collect water, how do we get hay and oats, what do we have for breakfast, dinner etc.

The research we did before, reading websites and lately the "seven year hitch" from David Grant it also covers food, the dinner you have and which people give it. At that time, we found it remarkable. Now we know for the better!

Maslow
Living this basic life of traveling includes also basic behaviors. In my college period when studying for social work, we learn about the Maslow pyramid from psychologist Abraham Harold Maslow. This pyramid describes different levels of need people have in life and the motivation to go to the next level. . Every level has to be fulfilled before you have the motivation to do the next step.

(For example, the first need in life is: food and water. Next step is protection, a shelter or a roof above your head. Those basic has to be fulfilled before you have the motivation to go for love and acceptance, respect, knowledge and at last self development)

I always thought that I understand those principals; however, that’s easy to say living in a heated five room dwelling, with hot / warm water and electricity when ever you want, and the grocery store around the corner.

In this basic life, it’s much more complicated.

When we arrive on a village, we search for the "best" spot. Do we have access to water? Is there a well or river, or neighbors friendly enough to fill our jerry-can? How is the grass? Is there enough for the horses or do we need additional hay? How or where, if necessary, can we collect hay? Is there a shop in the village for bread, potatoes or even some meat and vegetables?

Next step, but not necessary is electricity. We do have a solar panel but "real" electricity gives us more freedom to charge battery’s and use our lights. Last need to fulfill is Internet access and the possibility to leave the Van and horses for sightseeing and some "culture sniffing".

Heaven Reading this you can imagine that "a place from heaven" is the one with nice neighbors, big meadows, plenty of food and water nearby, a multiple socket close to the caravan and a wireless Internet network!

People on our way, like Slovakian Joseph and Lydia doing our laundry, the horse breeder bringing oat, the kind woman with coffee, pancakes in the morning and goulash in the evening are like little angels visiting from heaven. No doubt we want to mention them in our tales. They make it possible to do this journey and live this basic living!

John and Thea, a Dutch couple traveling through Europe in a Horse Drawn carriage. Their knowledge about this particular way of traveling is increasing by the day, now the on the road again Their full story is covered on their website Slow Express Journey

A great number of self-improvement gurus speak of wealth. If you turn on the television, surf the Internet, go to the book store and look at the best sellers list, a great number focus on financial well-being. There are those who speak of other aspects of self-improvement; however, the majority promote that which will fill the seats: monetary gain. Even the great Napoleon Hill, of Think and Grow Rich fame, spoke of financial wealth even though he invoked religious and spiritual themes. Of course, he was writing after the Great Depression and almost everyone's focus was on finances at the time. But as one of the more popular sayings goes, it is money that makes the world go 'round. And there is nothing wrong with money. According to Zig Ziglar, the great motivational "encourager," "money is not the most important thing in life, but it is reasonably close to oxygen." An adequate amount of money provides for peace of mind, a house, the bills paid and debtors kept at bay; it simply enables one to provide for family-and if need be-friends. Money is not the root of all evil, only the people who love it above all else. And this is where a problem arises. In the scheme of things, for you, where does money rate in relationship to other things: family, honesty, integrity, sincerity, valor, trust, all which can be lost or compromised if money is the priority.
What one needs to do in order to become financially successful has been covered time and again by many a guru; however, what is interesting to note is that the greatest lessons one can learn from the pursuit of great financial rewards are offshoots of the pursuit or excellence. Because in order to excel, excel in most areas of life, one must make great sacrifices in time, exert great effort, gain focus and purpose, maintain a serious level of persistence, and overcome the self and self-defeating habits through thorough self-examination and discipline. These things are of a much greater reward and of a much greater eternal significance (these principles last and remain with the individual forever; money and material things are fleeting and temporary), for it is here where one comes to understand the true purpose of life.

"It is one of the strange ironies of this strange life [that] those who work the hardest, who subject themselves to the strictest discipline, who give up certain pleasurable things in order to achieve a goal, are the happiest people."--Brutus Hamilton

It is this being of "the happiest people" that truly and significantly enriches the soul. There are many who are rich but find little joy in life. There are many poor and middle class who live their lives this way too. But great joy abounds in this universe of ours. However, in order to find true joy one must tap into certain universal laws and principles. And I'm not talking "I've just been to Disneyland" joy but joy that lasts a lifetime and then some:

"If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody."--Chinese proverb

It is this reaching out to others, this giving of the self that invigorates and enlivens. Time and time and time again stories come out of Hollywood (I use Hollywood because few of our neighbors are being interviewed these days) about first time mothers and fathers and the great joy and purpose therein that they have found. They see for the first time real joy. They see for the first time much greater importance beyond the self. They see for the first time that nothing is more important than a child for whom they would give their lives if need be. Why? Let's examine this truth.
We know that great joy comes from reaching out to help others, but where does the greatest joy reside? Certainly one can find fleeting joys, temporary joys, but where do the long lasting, self-perpetuating joys come from? What is most important to most people. Answer? Family. Spouse. Mother. Father. Son. Daughter. Grandmother. Grandfather. Relations. Consider this point, how long do we grieve for the loss of a car, a job, a favorite piece of clothing or jewelry? Certainly we can experience sadness or depression because of loss here, but do any of them last a lifetime like when we lose a daughter, son, friend, mother, father? Why? Because we lose a bit of ourselves, our humanity, our familia when relations die. It is these lives that give us life. Sustain us. Promote us. Energize us. You can take all the self-help, self-improvement, self-actualization classes you want, but if you lack family, a family that nurtures and encourages, then you are left with little success that matters. At the foundation of any healthy, successful society is the family.

"The approaching tenth anniversary of the International Year of the Family had prompted many governments to reaffirm the critical importance of the family as a central unit of society." (www.un.org 2004)

"The newly published Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church dedicates one of its first chapters to the institution of the family, described as "the vital cell of society." (Vatican Compendium on the Importance of the Family www.zenit.org 2004)

It is in the family where one needs to learn important truths and principles that will not only aid in creating a stronger family but those principles will be taken into school halls, business meetings, all gatherings public and private to create a better society. It is where one learns discipline, respect for self and others, cooperation, humor, laughter and play.

"Marriage requires collaboration, commitment and a sense of responsibility; these things equip us to choose and to work together towards a "we, us" or "together" orientation. We must strive to develop a deeper knowledge of the importance of the family and family values in Islam in order to deal with the powerful forces that surround us."

We must set aside a special time each week for our family members to enjoy one another, communicate, plan, and study Islam together. Husbands and wives need to spend time together talking and striving to have a sense of humor. They need to exercise self-control because when either of them gets angry and loses control, the effects can be wounding. Our tempers can get us into big problems." (Kassaimah Muslim Homes: Islamic Family Values in An Anti-Family Society www.missionislam.com 2007)

It is here where one learns of "reaching out" to others. This is not something that is or should be taught by schools, governments, communities, public or private institutions. It is in the family where one learns and earns a strong foundation. It is the responsibility of the parents to teach these principles, and if they don't know of them, they need to do their due diligence and learn of them through family, church or private counseling.
It constantly and consistently amazes me that these principles are not common knowledge. Maybe they do need to be taught in schools to parents and then have the children pass them on to their children and so on. And after this has been done for some time the family can take over with a proper, social, emotional, spiritual education.
Interesting to note that the amount and consistency of love, respect and attention that a child receives before the age of five to a great degree determines that child's mental welfare and stability for the remainder of its life.

Husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. "Children are an heritage of the Lord" (Psalms 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives-mothers and fathers-will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations." (Gordon B. Hinkley "The Family: A Proclamation to the World")

Nothing outside of the family can make up for any excessive abuse or lack of love within.

So often, we see individuals on television receiving a free makeover from a talk show host or a panel of celebrity "fashion police" on a reality show. The participants are absolutely elated with their new clothes, new hairstyle, and fresh new look. Their faces beam at the idea of becoming a new person - shedding off the old and taking on a new, different persona, like a snake shedding its skin. The transformation is sometimes drastic and commonly for the better.

Would it not be equally energizing and advantageous if we were able to give our personalities, attitudes, and thoughts a motivational makeover? We should not only want to look our best, but also feel our best and have the best of ourselves on display for the entire world to observe.

We can begin our internal renovation by making use of free motivational wallpapers in our workspace and personal desktops. Our senses and emotions are immediately heightened by these motivational wallpaper backgrounds. These jewels of photography and inspirational quotes can jar our outlook and attitudes. Our minds are excited into new thought processes, and our personalities have only to follow.

Motivational wallpaper backgrounds possess quotes created to incite a person to action. The presented imagery highlights hope, change for the better, success, and wisdom - all of the things necessary to makeover an individual's psyche. Real, lasting change can only come about if it derives from within and makes it way outward. These free and awe inspiring wallpapers help to boost an individual's self-perception, elevate progress, and add to endless possibilities. And as a result, positive energy emanates through their facial expressions, body language, verbal communication, actions, and outer appearance.

Free motivational wallpapers are tremendously engaging. The nature photographs generate a calming sensation and allow one to reflect on the words, which seem to speak directly to us. In addition, they permit us a moment to think about how the quotes apply to their personal and work life. The spirit is uplifted, and the mind and body are spurred into doing. No longer does the person want to sit in one place - in a state of complacency. The comfort of procrastination and stagnation are replaced by new momentum and direction.

Motivation is a powerful tool. If we can study and accept the benefits from its impact on our lives, we can undoubtedly attain a great deal from our personal relationships, our place of work, and ourselves. We live in a society that focuses greatly on aesthetics and pours millions of dollars into the cosmetic, medical, and fashion industries in order to look a certain way. We are frequently bombarded with "what's in" and the latest fads and trends. With so much being hurled our way to make us prettier, leaner, or more glamorous, we should not lose sight of the most important enhancement - our attitudes and characters.

By enriching our personalities with motivation, our inner and outer selves will receive the makeover they deserve, and our overall physical and emotional qualities will greatly improve.

5. What sorts of goals should people set?

I would urge people to think big and set long-term goals that excite them, without worrying at first about how they are going to get there. It really is a shame when people limit their lives by telling themselves that what they really want isn't realistic. The only way to find out what's realistic is to go for it.

You also need short-term goals to aim at, to give you something that's achievable and to give your unconscious mind some behavioural reinforcement when you achieve them. Psychologists have found (Ken Sheldon and Tim Kasser if you want to look them up) that people are happier when they achieve "vertical coherence" in their goal-setting - that is, when your higher-level and short-term goals are aligned so that achieving the immediate goal takes you closer to the big one. 6. How should people go about setting goals?

First, get yourself into a positive emotional state by reviewing what's already working in your life, what you like doing, what you've achieved already and what you're proud of. This will help you find your direction, get you thinking more strategically, and also help you to feel like you deserve success.

Then clarify your values - what's important to you - in the area of your life in which you want to set goals. Typical areas might include work and career, relationships, finances, health and fitness, and personal development.

Only then, when you're feeling good and you know what's important to you, should you start thinking about specific goals that will satisfy your values. Get clear about what you want, get a clear sensory image of what it will look, sound and feel like, and set a specific date for it in your future.

7. What are your top 3 tips for successful goal setting?

Okay, the first one would have to be focus on what you want, not what you want to get away from. If you don't know what you want, how will you know if you're on the right track, or recognise when you've got there? It may sound a bit "cosmic ordering" to say that your unconscious mind attracts what you focus on, but it's only another expression of that principle widely recognised in business that you are going to move in the direction of whatever targets you set. "Towards" motivation gives you a direction, it gets even stronger when you get close to achieving your goal, and you feel good when you have it. "Away from" motivation, by contrast, is undirected, it runs out when you get far enough from the thing you want to avoid, and it's stressful.

Next, form a sensory image of your goal - what will you see, hear and feel when you have it? This is vital for motivation. Most people are familiar with the idea that goals should be SMART - specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timed - but you'll notice there's nothing in there about whether you care if you achieve them or not. Using your senses gives you that missing piece by providing something to engage your emotions.
Finally - put a date on your goal! Until you have put a date on your goal, it will keep getting pushed to the back of your queue of priorities. Even if you say "in a year's time", the goal will always remain a year ahead unless you turn that into a proper date.

Why? Your unconscious mind acts like a good and faithful servant, and it will do its best to give you whatever you ask it for. But it will always take the line of least resistance. If you don't put a date on your goal, there will always be something more urgent to deal with. This is why important but non-urgent tasks tend to be neglected,

8. What pitfalls do people new to goal setting have to be careful of?

Three that I can think of straight away: firstly, not taking into account potentially unwanted knock-on effects of achieving the goal. If you don't consider all the consequences of your goal - on your health, your family, your friendships, and the wider community - you may end up with something you don't want. The smarter way to set goals is to take the consequences into account, allowing you to make changes to your goal and/or your route to achieving it. That way you stand a chance of getting the benefits of your goal while avoiding unwanted side effects.

Second, taking too much on and getting discouraged. It can be very easy to set a big, compelling goal - and then feel overwhelmed by the effort you think it will take to get there. The goal is so big, and so different from how things are now, that getting there by the deadline you have set will surely demand too much of you. And the more you think about the legwork it will take, the more discouraged you feel. The remedy is to break it down into smaller steps that feel more achievable, and recognise each step as an achievement. The key really is to get started - not necessarily to "take massive action", but to take some action to get you going.

Finally - and this is the biggest pitfall of all - not knowing what you want. In the absence of some powerful external motivation, like getting yourself out of debt or meeting a deadline set by someone else, how do people motivate themselves to even think about what they want - as opposed to what they want to get away from? I've certainly had large periods of my life when I was more or less drifting. The way out of it is to think about what's going well, what you are good at and what's important to you - then it becomes easy to build a picture of where you want to go.

9. Tell us a little about your book on goal setting and how it can help people.

Well, Achieve Your Goals: Strategies to Transform Your Life (Dorling Kindersley 2006) is a step by step guide for how to determine what you want, how to set goals so they happen, and how to keep yourself motivated on the way there. It wasn't easy to write it to fit in with the publisher's very exacting design standards, but it's actually come out as twice the book it would have been if I had just written it as a conventional textbook. I had to collaborate with the designers to find visual ways of getting the main points very concisely, and the result is a beautifully designed and illustrated book that is a lot easier to read for the busy person. It's something you can work through from start to finish, or just dip into for a quick fix if you run into a specific obstacle. Judging by the number of five star reviews on Amazon (all the reviews are five star at the time of writing), it's doing its job.

10. Is there anything else you would recommend people to do, read or look at?

It's definitely worth taking a course like the four-day 'Create The Life You Want' workshop which is also the first part of the NLP Practitioner training - it's one thing to read about goal-setting methods, but you really have to experience them in practice to get the best from them.

There's a lot of interesting research on goals and motivation coming out of the Positive Psychology movement at the moment - you can keep up with it on my 'Practical EQ' blog.

And, if coming on one of our courses is not practicable for you at this time, why not get together with some of your friends and form an Achieve Your Goals book group so you can support each other as you work through the exercises? Social support is a key component of goal achievement that makes it much easier for most of us - you don't have to do it all by yourself!

As you can see, goal setting can form a key element in keeping yourself on track and focused. If you want more from Andy we also conducted an audio interview which will be available from my shop in the next few weeks. In the meantime, why not take some time out to review and revise your goals? I look forward to hearing of your successes.

Throughout life's journey we are often bombarded with demands, decision-making, and deadlines. What better way to get through these speed bumps than to have inspiration drive us over each of them? It is a seed that is planted, takes root, and assists to deliver us where we want to go. We need inspiration like flowers need bees to pollinate new life. It is the substance that stimulates our minds and helps us flourish and grow.

Inspiration comes in all forms and fashion. It can derive from a religious sermon, family, friends, colleagues, professional coaches, therapists, books or photos. Although inspiration comes in many forms, the most rousing are the ones we can actually see. Visual inspiration helps us to see ourselves in another place, to give our minds a little rest and relaxation from our current environment, and allows us an opportunity to drift away for a brief moment and daydream a bit. If we are unable to see ourselves at the finish line and actually go there in our minds, we can lose our direction and energy.

In order to stay consistently focused and productive, our minds and spirit need to re-energize, and inspirations give us that boost we need to maintain the drive. Surrounding ourselves with inspirations that appeal to our sense of sight is a very effective way to keep our goal directly in front of us. If an individual wants to lose weight, a picture of a fit person lying on a gorgeous tropical beach can certainly encourage them. We can all envision our slimmer beautiful bodies basking in the sun with waves crashing onto the white sands. Not only can we see ourselves at our ideal weight but also the encouraging words that accompany the image will follow us throughout our quest.

Every individual should utilize some type of inspiration for work and home to aid in jumpstarting their day, to serve as a reminder of what it is they are striving for and why they are doing the things that they are doing, and to keep the momentum flowing. To help fulfill the need, there are several different types of free inspirational wallpaper that are available. And, in an age where we spend a great deal of time in front of our personal computers, having free inspirational desktop wallpaper is a godsend.

Whether we are sitting at our computer doing work or tackling personal items, having that inspirational snapshot looking back at us provides the right atmosphere and motivation to complete the task at hand. That visual stimulus is the fuel that excites a person into action and keeps them moving in the direction of their dreams and aspirations. Free inspirational wallpaper is an easily accessible, visually striking, and thought-provoking tool that adorns the workspace with positive energy. It uplifts the spirit and helps to generate ideas, creativity, energy, and calmness.

Of all the wonderful gifts that one receives in life, inspiration is truly one of those gifts that keeps giving. When the inspiration is acted upon, it is re-gifted and placed back into the world. The individual gains so much from it and can, in turn, give more of themselves at the workplace and in their personal lives.

Inspiration is equivalent to motion. It moves the mind, spirit, and body to greater heights. Inspiration spurs one towards their goals - their destiny. So, a person should exercise it, relish it, look for it, use it, obtain it, give it, and soak it all in. It is a special gift to receive, and we should allow it to compel us into action.

The saying goes, "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away." The idea is that fresh foods, physical activities, and an overall healthy lifestyle could prevent a person from frequent visitations to their doctor. They body becomes stronger and functions efficiently, and the individual does not suffer from common ailments or disease. Ideally, this is the picture that everyone wants, "a picture of perfect health." The attractive physique, increase in energy, and general euphoric sensations are some of the benefits gained from a good diet and exercise plan. But for a large number of us, we simply fall short of this model. Thus, we spend a great deal of time playing "catch up."

With hectic lifestyles, we do not always prepare for or choose the proper foods, and it is especially difficult to include a workout regiment into a busy schedule. Although it may appear to be unattainable at times, it is important to remember that the "picture of perfect health" is a goal. We need to treat it similarly to any other objective we have set on our agendas and in our minds. And as a goal, we have to plan for it and train ourselves accordingly. Our mental state plays a huge role in reaching these targets. So, part of the planning phase requires motivation, endurance, and a positive attitude.

Because the majority of us have not achieved the level of fitness we desire, we must make certain that we take the necessary steps to get ourselves there with the least amount of distractions and detours. In order to do this, focus, clear direction, and momentum are imperative. We should also be careful to be realistic with our short-term plans. We cannot not reverse or eliminate the effects of time, poor diets, and lack of physical activity overnight. The process will require some time and patience. Besides, anything worth having is worth the hard work.

The key thing to not lose sight of is the fact that reaching our goals is a step-by-step process that may sometimes involve disappointment or hindrance. But, we can always regroup and begin again. The actual act of moving towards your goal is just as beneficial as reaching it. Along the journey we are building strength, know-how, and experience.

To help us carry on the process, we need to bear in mind that aids are sometimes required. Inspiring quotes through free motivational wallpapers are a great source of encouragement. Similar to taking a daily vitamin in order to obtain the essential minerals for our bodies, motivational downloads are the supplemental doses of inspiration for our brains and inner essence. Free motivational wallpaper downloads afford us the proper nutrition for healthy minds and hearts.

Our vitamins C, D, and E's can come in the form of easy to swallow tablets, but our emotional lifters and enhancers are available in easily downloadable free motivational wallpapers. Reaching our goals is not always as simple as taking a pill, so we should include as many obtainable helpers as possible into the plans. Feeding our bodies with nutritious meals, complementing our physical workout with the appropriate supplements, and providing mental stimuli create an excellent formula for success.

To the man with a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. But the power of incentives is a lot more pervasive than that.

'Well I think I've been in the top 5% of my age cohort all my life in understanding the power of incentives, and all my life I've underestimated it. And never a year passes [without me] getting some surprise that pushes my limit a little farther.' That was Charlie Munger, Berkshire Hathaway Vice-Chairman, speaking before the Harvard Law School on the psychology of human misjudgement.

Munger is resolutely focussed on the power of incentives to influence human behaviour. In his speech he recounts a number of examples where incentives have been used for both good and ill. Federal Express was one such example. It has to transport packages within its network to a central location for sorting before sending them on to their final destination. For the system to work, the sorting must be quick and efficient. The trouble was that, for a time at least, it wasn't. The company tried all sorts of incentives without much success. Then management came up with the idea of paying their staff by the shift, instead of for the shift. In other words, when the sorting was done the staff could go home. As you can guess, along with the staff at the end of their shift, the problem vanished almost immediately.

Getting rich at others' expense

It's a fantastic example of building a better system through incentives. But have a look around and you'll see all sorts of incentive systems that don't operate in the interests of those who generally fund the system; Does your fund manager charge a base percentage fee on the amount under management regardless of performance? Does your financial advisor receive trailing fees and commissions from those funds and investment houses whose products he sells, even if they fail to provide an adequate return? What about stock brokers? Don't they get a clip of the ticket every time a stock is bought or sold regardless of the profit or loss sustained? In the finance industry there are no shortage of incentives, it's just that most of them are structured to benefit not you but someone else.

The best way to tackle the challenge of learning Chinese is to identify your reason and motivation for learning the language, as this will help you focus on the things that you should look out for. For example, the business owner wanting to learn Chinese has different needs to the traveler going over for a two week trip, and so you have to direct your learning to achieve the best results. Of course, perhaps a combination of methods would work best for you, but first let’s look at some of the popular approaches today.

The traditional way of studying Chinese is to enroll in a course. The psychological trigger of paying for books, resources, lessons, teacher all motivate the student to put in a certain amount of effort. However, learning this way can become slightly monotonous. The benefit of this approach is that you can gain formal assessment for your study efforts, and can take something away from the course that will help further advance your studies. On the other hand, it doesn’t necessarily suit the style and pace of everyone.

Nowadays, with the widespread use of technology as a learning tool, many possibilities have been created for those who prefer a different approach to learning languages. Of course, the traditional method of learning has evolved to keep pace with technology, with many institutions offering distance or online courses or modules to tailor to individual needs. However, there have been some interesting new ways to learn languages that are just been explored recently.

One of the most innovative ways to learn Chinese is by joining a chat room or virtual reality environment. The design of software programs have allowed the use of multi-lingual input and output, along with speech and voice recognition to offer users a much richer learning environment even in the absence of direct human face-to-face contact. Chat programs such as QQ up being rapidly taken up by the Chinese populations, and foreign users always attract curious Chinese locals that want to offer language exchange through the translation and dictionary functions of the program. Virtual reality worlds such as Second Life and HiPiHi have also opened up new communication channels for users to interact with each other, and several linguistic and language interest groups are emerging and embracing the new medium for communication and exchange of ideas/information.

Despite all the convenience of technology, any language enthusiasts will tell you the difference between learning the language and experiencing the language (i.e. travel to the country). To be immersed in the language beats any method of learning, but the costs of travel and accommodation tends to entice only those who find it a financially viable means of learning, or those die hard culture/language enthusiasts.

Instead of traveling to the country, it might also be worthwhile considering making friends with Chinese people who have made the trip to your country. Perhaps enquire about how you can host foreign exchange students, or join language exchange programs with local English language schools or organizations. That way, you can bring the people to you, rather than having to go to the people to learn the language.

Anyway, which ever way you decide to learn Chinese, the important thing for beginners is to work out your motivation for learning the language (it is one of the most difficult and greatest learning curve). When you have figured that out, you will want to adjust your learning style to the method of learning. If all goes well, then your motivation for learning Chinese, combined with an efficient and enjoyable method of learning, will go a long way to ensure that the experience will be a rewarding, even if slightly challenging one.

It is said that God has planned something specific for each one of us. Each one of us has come on this earth to fulfill His peculiar motive; but we need to follow our intuition and pursue our purpose.

Motivation is the key to goal setting and goal setting is the door to success. Imagine small children making castles in sand. What is the motive behind their dogging effort to make the best castle? Well, it is nothing but the sheer joy of seeing something that you have made or created with your own hands. The accomplishment of building the best or the biggest castle around, itself gives this indescribable euphoric feeling to them. The point is that if the motivation to achieve a particular thing comes from within there is nothing that can stop you from achieving it. Without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination. Goals help us understand ourselves better. They give us a time line and a roadmap to discover the true essence of our life.

Even a farmer needs to set goals to get maximum yield from his land. He works in a futuristic method; he manipulates by when he should reap and accordingly sows the seeds and nurtures the farm. In a corporate organization, the head of the organization is a true visionary; he sets certain short term goals which he and his employees strive to attain, thus simultaneously moving closer to achieving a bigger, long term goal. Thus goal setting is inevitable and vital in every walk of life.

Every person may have a different definition for goal. Some may want to do well education and career-wise while some may want to be a good parent or a good individual. Some may wish to strive towards attaining physical well-being while some may strive for emotional/mental well-being. Some may set goals to achieve a certain financial status while some may set goals to achieve inner spiritual peace and pleasure. Whatever is your reason or your goal, the only trick in the route towards your success is to surpass your disbeliefs and skepticism, accept that your dreams do exist, they are real, and you have the ability to realize them.

So how do you exactly set your goals? First and foremost, you need to identify your values, strengths and desires. You need to accept your shortcomings but not be ashamed of them. Once you are aware of your weaknesses you are rather alert than ashamed and thus you know exactly where you need to localize your energies. After this, you need to identify realistic goals, prioritize them, categorize them as short term or long term and then plan the course of action.

While planning your strategy you need to be cognizant of the fact that there can be failures. However, whilst some people treat ‘failures’ as learning curves some crumble when they meet an obstacles. Those who manage to realize their dreams are not the weak hearted who wallow in self pity, they are those who persevere and use so called ‘failures’ to their advantage. My view is that failures are learning experiences, which simply serve us! Its simply a matter of choice, what you choose to believe, if you choose to believe that a failure is the end of your dreams then so it will be. But if you choose to believe that a failure is indeed a teaching experience then you will learn and carry on with your journey. You should not be easily disheartened, remember that if you find a path without any hindrance, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere! You may need to reevaluate your plan and work towards your goals by taking another route. And lastly, you need to enjoy your journey of realizing your goals. Don’t get too stressed or worried, there is a higher power always willing to assist. You can reach ANY goal you set for yourself, for the ONE who stands by you at all times is SUPREME to any obstacles you can ever imagine.

Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes a goal. And goals are those dreams that have an ending!

Developing tummy fat has a way of motivating people -- oftentimes our waistlines "develop" as we get older, much like our bodies grow and develop during puberty. However, unlike adolescent and teenage growth spurts, gaining unhealthy weight and even becoming obese are not requirements of getting older, though these trends certainly fit the current norms. When you're ready to take on the challenge of getting into better shape, and burning off excess fat, using quick weight loss diets may come to mind.

In these times, two questions oftentimes come to mind, "Do they work", and "are they safe?" -- these are the questions we seek to answer today.

Quick weight loss diets - do they work?

The short and long of this question is yes and no. Fast weight loss diets can work, but when you are dealing with quick weight loss, the "instant" results that you see are not conducive to long-term gains, or rather losses in this case, in the grand scheme of things. When you lose weight quickly, it is most often due to the loss of excess water in your system, not due to the burning of fat. So, if your weight loss diet helps you to lose weight very fast, there's a good chance that the results will be temporary, at least unless your diet program of choice has a way of combating the real problem -- the accumulation of body fat.

Quick weight loss diets - are the safe?

The answer to this question depends on how you're reaching your weight loss goals. If you're trying to lose five to seven pounds for an event coming up in a week or so, the dangers of irreparable harm to an otherwise healthy individual are not all that likely. To lose this kind of weight in a week, chances are you are going to be removing some of the water buildup in your system, not burning off fat. To lose five pounds this quickly through fat loss, as opposed to water weight loss, you would absolutely need to incorporate an extreme exercise routine into your daily regimen, unless you're a 6'3", 25 year old man weighing in at 400 pounds and want to take part in a starvation diet for six-to-seven days. And at this size and weight -- five pounds won't make a lot of difference, anyway.

To lose five pounds of fat in a week, while possible, a 200 pound man would have to play 20 hours of full-contact football, and a 135 pound woman would have to endure around 30 hours of vigorous bike riding or 10"-12" step aerobics while keeping your caloric intake pretty close to your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). To sum things up, though, quick weight loss diets, if they help you to take off excess water, may be safe for generally healthy individuals, but in terms of fast fat burning -- not only is it not safe, this option is not really feasible for individuals who currently maintain a less-than-active lifestyle.

While your excess tummy fat may have, in fact, given you the motivation you need to get started with a weight loss diet or program, just know that not all quick weight loss diets produce long-term results, and unless there is a clear and concise plan laid out on how you can continue to lose weight -- look into something else.

Looking good today is the number one priority in many people's lives. In today's age of size zero, everyone wants to feel and look fit. The most common New Year's resolution these days is to lose weight and the treadmill provides the perfect opportunity to do so. The key to a fit body is regular cardiovascular exercise and the treadmill can play a very important role in this regard.

Many people consider that the gym is the only option for regular exercise, but the gym has some disadvantages.

The first disadvantage is financial cost. In order to gain any benefit from exercise it is important that the exercise sessions are repeated at regular intervals so that it becomes a routine. But frequent visits to the gym can mean a significant expenditure over the course of a year.

Some people find it difficult to motivate themselves sufficiently to get ready and then make the car journey to the gym. There is also the frequent aggravation of trying to find a parking place and then having to make the car journey home again.

Another disadvantage is that some people can feel uncomfortable exercising in front of strangers. This feeling can be significant for people who may be shy or embarrassed because they are carrying a little extra weight.

By owning a home treadmill the problems previously mentioned are mitigated and there is a much greater motivation to exercise. Treadmill exercise has been proven to be beneficial for all kinds of people, including high risk groups like old people and pregnant women. Some kinds of aerobic exercise do not suit pregnant women, but walking is always recommended for them and the home treadmill is ideally suited to this purpose.

But, as with most things in life there are some disadvantages to treadmill ownership. Walking on the treadmill, after a while, can become monotonous. Exercising on the treadmill doesn't provide the feel of fresh air and sunshine that can be enjoyed while walking outside. In spite of all these disadvantages, however, it can be said that if you have a strong motivation and desire, then the treadmill will definitely help you to achieve your weight loss and fitness goals.

The cardio-vascular exercise derived from walking or running on a treadmill helps you to lose extra calories and will help you to lose weight rapidly if you exercise on a frequent and consistent basis. A treadmill adds consistency to your walking workout and you can set both the pace and duration of your session and increase this in order to achieve a progressive improvement over time. A treadmill can also help you to achieve your personal fitness goals from the comfort and safety of your own home.

Most treadmills have an incline device that helps you to control the inclination of your walk, exactly like when you are walking up a hill. On some treadmills the incline can be controlled automatically by one of the many built in work out programs that can control both the speed and incline.

Some models have programs that are coupled to heart rate monitor sensors and are then able to regulate the speed and incline of the treadmill in sympathy with the user's heart rate. This feature is referred to as "heart rate control" and can be used to keep the user's heart rate in the optimum "target zone" in order to optimize the amount of benefit derived from the workout.

If you like walking or have been advised to walk regularly, then the weather conditions outside can create problems. When the weather conditions are poor during periods of rain, wind or snow it makes it unpleasant or impossible to walk outside. With a home treadmill you don't need to worry about the weather and you can continue with your regular exercise regime in comfort and security.

Working out on a treadmill has advantages that are not available to those who run or walk outside. These advantages include the ability to provide useful feedback on such parameters as duration, heart rate, pulse rate, distance traveled, the number of calories burned. You can walk, run or jog on the treadmill-at whatever speed you desire up to the maximum speed of the machine which on most treadmills is up to 10 - 12 MPH.

As you can see the home treadmill offers many benefits and advantages to someone wishing to obtain a great cardio workout in order to meet their weight loss and fitness goals. Many people find that when they eventually take the plunge and buy a home treadmill the benefits they get in terms of fitness and overall well being can be life changing.

Get fit! Get enjoyment! Get the treadmill advantage!
