When Motivation Counts

Have you stopped to think just how short life really is? Do you realize that every day you spend worrying or feeling bad about yourself is one more day that you are putting off being happy? If you are ever to get the most out of life, now is the time to start. Is there a dream, purpose, or accomplishment you have desired for a long time? Then now is the time that motivation counts!

What are the components of a life worth living? Many people would say that their relationship with their spouse and their children are an important part of what makes their life worthwhile. Do keep this in mind, though. Family life and marriage are not always easy. It requires that you put time in with those special people. It requires you to learn to be patient and keep your cool, too. Right now is the time to get motivated and start taking that weekly date with your spouse. Right now is the time to start having dinner with your kids and talking about their day. Now is the time motivation counts!

If you're single, you don't have to give up hope. You can know that fulfillment, too. The person you eventually attract will depend a lot on the person you are. A good rule of thumb is to be the person you desire to make your mate. In other words, do you want someone who is patient and loyal? Honest and humble? Virtuous and hard-working? Then be those things yourself. Then get out there and meet people. Or go online. With today's internet options, there is no reason everyone can't find Mr. or Ms. Right. But now is the time to get motivated and work toward that dream. Motivation counts now!

Another thing that makes life worth living is having the ability to have fun. This can mean having enough money to take vacations and the like, and with motivation, you might be able to have the money you want. However, if you don't learn to relax and enjoy what you have, the money itself might never really bring you the fun you crave. An easy-going, up-beat, contented attitude goes farther than money when it comes to having fun. If you don't have this type of outlook, then now is the time to get motivated and become more positive. Now is when motivation counts!

Almost everyone is required to work in order to have food on the table and a roof over their head. If your job makes you miserable, then even with a great family and lots of fun, you're going to be putting in forty hours a week of misery. How can you improve this picture? Do you need to look for a job in a different line of work? Or would a successful work-at-home business be perfect for you? If your income or work tasks are unsatisfactory to you, then it's time to push yourself a little to make a change. Motivation counts now!

So when does motivation count? Maybe a better question would be, when doesn't it count?

Have you sometimes looked at your daily "to-do" list and then wondered how you could ever get it all done? Maybe you are having more and more workdays wasted because you just cant find the motivation to get anything done?

So many people have a really hard time finding motivation, especially if they have to do things that they don't actually enjoy doing. But there are ways to find motivation when its missing, put some away for a rainy day and get through that list like a rocket!

Getting (and Staying) Motivated

The problem with motivation is that you are either motivated or not; there is no real grey area here! Dont worry though, all hope is not lost, even if you feel like motivation is something that has been missing in your life for a long time.

A good place to start to get motivated is to find someone who has the motivational qualities you are looking for in yourself. It could be a family member, friend, colleague, or someone special in your life. As soon as you know who your person is, copy what they do and see if they will chat to you about why it looks so easy for them - you will probably get some great tips. When you talk to this person, tell him or her that you'd love to learn their motivation secrets. You will probably find that having this conversation with your role model will help to inspire you into action. We can all use some personal support, so step outside of your comfort zone for a minute and give this a whirl!

Take a mental vacation if you find that high amounts of stress are zapping you of your motivation. Go shopping for a couple of hours, read a book, go for a nature walk, or call a friend. Taking a break may seem like the wrong thing to do, but your motivation will likely come back when the pressure is gone.

Relaxation can also help you get moving, as strange as it may seem! Many people find that creativity and inspiration go out the window when they are stressed out or under immense pressure. This is also true if you are lacking sleep or are working long hours without a break.

When you are lacking motivation, a good way to find some is by simply cleaning up your backyard! This might involve cleaning your desk or taking some time to completely clear your mind of negative thoughts. Although a select few seem to thrive in total chaos, the rest of us need a clear mind and an uncluttered work space. Relax for a few hours, clean off your desk, and come back to whatever you were doing. Your motivation may be there, waiting for you!

Motivational affirmations are another great way to get motivated when you need it the most. A positive statement such as, "I am my own motivator," or, "I use my energy to live my life to the fullest" just might be the words that remind you of your own inner inspriation.

Affirmations will reprogram your mind in a positive way. Saying them aloud to yourself will help you find motivation in times of self-doubt or procrastination. Realize when you are simply un-motivated and strike while the iron is hot! If you get onto it straight away, you wont have time to let this normally temporary issue really set in. Give these suggestions a really good goings over and make sure you give them a real and honest try. You WILL find your lost motivation and you just might be surprised by the results!

Do people really think that life is meant to be lived in default? Getting up, going to work because you have to without any real motivation or joy in doing so. Do you want to regret your boring life when you are on your death bed? Or do you want to look back at a life that is so bright and wonderful it is almost blinding to look at?

What is Motivation?

Is motivation the key ingredient to getting what you want in life? In reality, motivation is an inner process that helps you to move toward your goal in definite motion, with purpose and vision. Drive and determination are two qualities necessary to experience real motivation.

Some people allow different things to motivate them. It could be your job, your marriage, your family, your income or your wealth. What is motivation to you? If you can find out what is motivates you, then you can have tap into your true self and hone in on exactly what you need to do to succeed.

Without motivation you will go nowhere in life and end up like most people, running to the movie store to rent enough movies, or to the bar on Friday to help you zone out until Monday. Let me know how many truly successful people you find at a bar?

Some people have learned what motivation is by seeking to improve themselves and creating a vision that is realistic as well as having an inner desire that outweighs the challenges.

Since motivation is a parallel to the word, "move," lack of motivation is when your life is at a standstill. This equates to fear of failure and what keeps most people from doing anything significant in their lives.

You can tell a motivated person when you see one. They have that sparkle in their eye and they are always looking for new challenges and ways to grow. Growth is synonymous to motivation because there isn't really a stopping point of "all right, I have done enough it is time to just sit around and do nothing." Motivation is ongoing as you will find that successful people always have something that motivates them. They know that there motivation is what helps shape the very world that we live in.

Staying motivated is not necessarily easy, however, especially when we face obstacles or uninvited trouble that dampens our spirit. Negative thoughts and anxiety come into play and we can become unmotivated and doubtful about our future.

However, there are some people who have learned how to pick up the pieces and use their challenges as a stepping-stone to move forward. That is what makes these people successful. They view failure as a lesson in life and never see themselves as a victim.

What is Self-Motivation To You?

If you are a person who is disciplined, goal-oriented, and organized, it is quite likely that you have the skills to motivate yourself. It is possible that you have realized what motivation is and have used it to become the person that you are today.

Self-motivated people know that there is no simple solution to becoming motivated after a disappointment, but they also know that if they can beat the odds, then they will be stronger the next time another obstacle comes along.

Self-motivated individuals realize that their thoughts are what control their emotions. Learning how to nurture their thoughts into a positive outcome helps them to pull themselves together and keep focused on their long-term goals instead of the temporary situation that is plaguing them.

Motivation is of particular interest to Educational psychologists because of the crucial role it plays in student learning. Motivation in education can have several effects on how students learn and their behaviour towards subject matter (Ormrod, 2003). Motivation has been found to be a pivotal area in treating Autism Spectrum Disorders, as in Pivotal Response Therapy. Motivation is also an important element in the concept of Andragogy (what motivates the adult learner). Motivation by threat is a dead-end strategy, and naturally staff are more attracted to the opportunity side of the motivation curve than the threat side. Motivational strategies need to be applied individually and changed frequently so that they do not become ineffective through over use.

Motivation

According to Geen, motivation refers to the initiation, direction, intensity and persistence of human behaviour. Some authors distinguish between two forms of intrinsic motivation: one based on enjoyment, the other on obligation. There is currently no universal theory to explain the origin or elements of intrinsic motivation, and most explanations combine elements of Fritz Heider's attribution theory, Bandura's work on self-efficacy and other studies relating to locus of control and goal orientation.

Note that the idea of reward for achievement is absent from this model of intrinsic motivation, since rewards are an extrinsic factor. In work environments, money may provide a more powerful extrinsic factor than the intrinsic motivation provided by an enjoyable workplace. Successful coercion sometimes can take priority over other types of motivation. The self-control of motivation is increasingly understood as a subset of emotional intelligence; a person may be highly intelligent according to a more conservative definition (as measured by many intelligence tests), yet unmotivated to dedicate this intelligence to certain tasks.

Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of human needs theory is the most widely discussed theory of motivation. Frederick Herzberg's two-factor theory, aka intrinsic/extrinsic motivation, concludes that certain factors in the workplace result in job satisfaction, but if absent, lead to dissatisfaction. To understand how to control motivation it is first necessary to understand why many people lack motivation.

It is usually suggested that it is critical to maintain a list of tasks, with a distinction between those which are completed and those which are not, thereby moving some of the required motivation for their completion from the tasks themselves into a "meta-task", namely the processing of the tasks in the task list, which can become a routine. However, the specific kind of motivation that is studied in the specialized setting of education differs qualitatively from the more general forms of motivation studied by psychologists in other fields.

Because students are not always internally motivated, they sometimes need situated motivation, which is found in environmental conditions that the teacher creates. There are two kinds of motivation: Intrinsic motivation occurs when people are internally motivated to do something because it either brings them pleasure, they think it is important, or they feel that what they are learning is significant.

At lower levels of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, such as Physiological needs, money is a motivator; however it tends to have a motivating effect on staff that lasts only for a short period (in accordance with Herzberg's two-factor model of motivation). At higher levels of the hierarchy, praise, respect, recognition, empowerment and a sense of belonging are far more powerful motivators than money, as both Abraham Maslow's theory of motivation and Douglas McGregor's Theory X and theory Y (pertaining to the theory of leadership) demonstrate.

According to the system of scientific management developed by Frederick Winslow Taylor, a worker's motivation is solely determined by pay, and therefore management need not consider psychological or social aspects of work. In essence scientific management bases human motivation wholly on extrinsic rewards and discards the idea of intrinsic rewards.

In contrast, David McClelland believed that workers could not be motivated by the mere need for money-- in fact, extrinsic motivation (e. , money) could extinguish intrinsic motivation such as achievement motivation, though money could be used as an indicator of success for various motives, e.

Motivation is of particular interest to Educational psychologists because of the crucial role it plays in student learning. Motivation has been found to be a pivotal area in treating Autism Spectrum Disorders, as in Pivotal Response Therapy. Motivation by threat is a dead-end strategy, and naturally staff is more attracted to the opportunity side of the motivation curve than the threat side. Motivation is the key to performance improvement.

Motivation is, in effect, a means to reduce and manipulate this gap. Motivational strategies need to be applied individually and changed frequently so that they do not become ineffective through over use. Motivation is a pivotal concept in most theories of learning. Motivation to achieve is a function of the individual's desire for success, the expectancy of success, and the incentives provided. Motivation is divided into two basic types: integrative and instrumental.

Motivation is an important factor in L2 achievement. Motivation’s philosophy is based on commitment towards ‘enhancing the quality of life of people with disabilities’ through the provision of appropriate mobility devices (wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs), professional services such as physiotherapy, economic empowerment (via job fairs, vocational training, job placements) and advocating basic human rights. Motivation depends on many factors with the primary factor being the power of your dreams.

Have you ever just felt like you were doing everything you were supposed to in order to lose weight and STILL weren't dropping the pounds?

During her journey to lose 40lbs in 16 weeks, my good friend Kim faced some pretty serious challenges with regards to her level of motivation.

Another friend of mine, Antonio Goodwin, who lost 4 inches from his waistline in 9 weeks with my program, faced the same frustration.

The problem was that at several times during their weight loss, they both felt as if they were not losing much weight and were not seeing results.

Now, a look at either of their before and after photos on my web sites shows that each of them made quite a substantial improvement in their bodies.

So what would make someone who's losing weight each week feel as if they were not?

I'll tell you exactly what. Its referred to as the emotional roller coaster.

This is how it usually goes:

You start a new diet or weight loss program. You're all excited to be doing something great for your health and the way you look, and you're sticking to the program, step by step.

Consistent action pays off and after a short while you start getting compliments about the pounds you're losing week by week.

Then all of a sudden, it all seems to stop. You can no longer see the physical changes in your body, and maybe you even have a moment of weakness and cheat a bit on your diet plan. So now you're frustrated and mildly depressed. You feel as if true weight loss may NEVER happen for you, no matter what you do.

TIME OUT.

The trick here is to not get stuck in your own frustration.

Now this is a tough one, because everyone and I do mean EVERYONE goes through this stage. Whenever I need to trim down for a photo shoot, I go through it as well.

One of the things that you must understand about the body is that for as long as you are doing the right things on a consistent basis it WILL respond with results.

The Jedi Mind Trick is that oftentimes the progress is subtle, or may be primarily taking place in an area that you cannot see as well.

For instance, my friend Kim loses weight in her back the fastest. Her frustration came because she did not see the fat loss on her stomach the way she would have liked to. Little did she know that from behind she looked like a completely different person.

Listen, the emotional roller coaster is an inevitable aspect of any worthy undertaking that we take on in life. Remember getting through college? Or maybe waiting for puberty to set in? How about paying off your debts? The mental battle while attempting to diet and/or achieve weight loss is no different.

So make a conscious decision to stick to your guns. Let it play out. Victory lies in having the strength to make it through the rough spots without cracking under the pressure and losing all that you've worked for. If you can just master getting past the point of frustration, before you know it you'll be seeing results again and getting more compliments.

The human being is a social creature, so he requires motivation for effort. A man, who is skilled of doing all, needs approval from others for his works. For some works, when confidence is not strong enough to get going. Motivation is required to get the faith in capabilities. As we say-, ‘there are no limits for human' but there are apprehension and insecurity for some important works. In some cases when people get exhausted, they think themselves to be broken down; for keeping their faith in abilities, and to keep them going on motivation is required.

There are many things to motivate a man. Some people are self-motivated, but are rare. Teaching and analyzing themselves and thinking positive can be self-motivation for them but after all men needs others also to believe in his abilities so even for some rare times they also need motivation from external things. Getting motivated is actually getting positive energy. Energy source can differ. It may be some person, some literature, some thought, some belief or something beautiful.

Motivational training is teaching a person to get his motivation and keep it on for long time. This teaching is in itself a motivation. As this training gives thoughts to get motivation. Therefore, this motivational training becomes the course of action, which gives you the integrated positive energy, to make you able for receiving energy from all the sources you have.

To get motivational training there are things that, provide self-energy such as:

Literature: - There are both kinds of literature to get motivation. Success literature can directly motivate as it is written for that purpose. There are Del Carnegi, Steven Conory, Swet Morden and their books like ‘seven habits of highly effective people." They provide a view of life, so one can analyze him and get motivated for new challenges.

On the other hand, there are, Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoyevaskey and Charles Dickens, they gave the way of thinking and provide thoughtfulness of human capabilities for motivations.

Trainers: - There are some experts in this field which provides the motivational strength to thoughts. Being face to face with a person is very different experience. On the other, hand everyone some persons whom he believes to be capable and owner of strong will power. Conversation with such person on personal matters can be the motivation. Breaks: - When we are tired of our ongoing routines, often mind stops responding and everything seems to be dull and bore. In such case, it is better to go for some vacation and take a break. It gives freshness to the mind and provides great motivational energy. There are no limitations of sources of motivation. Some sources appeal somebody and some not. Motivation is required for every one. Some times, we find those sources in our hobbies and sometimes in taking time with our families; some spatial friends give us motivation in spending time together.

Self-motivation is a rare but brilliant thing. It needs strong will power to be able to regenerate energy from our own thoughts. Our soul is the biggest source of motivational energy, so being honest with the soul makes you self motivated. Even if you have sources of motivation, self-motivation of our individuality is the most powerful one. No external power can de-motivate a self-motivated person.

Employee motivation can be an easy task especially when the team leader demonstrates the appropriate disciplines. The simple disciplines encourage employee motivation to happen naturally. The wonders of "monkey see, monkey do" approach.

Motivation, whether it is self motivation or employee motivation, is the trigger to act. The factors involved to personally motivate and to inspire are not necessarily the factors that motivate all individuals or that lead to overall employee motivation.

No one can conjure up the means to motivate you, only you can discover the best methods in which to motivate yourself. Employee motivation comes from within the individual.

A good and well equipped team leader will demonstrate the appropriate behaviours and create an environment that accentuates employee motivation.

There are two types of self or employee motivation: External and Internal

External employee motivation comes from awards, bonuses, titles, promotions, money, etc. These are motivators commonly referred to as the hygiene factors. Unfortunately these external motivators do not last and are not a good source for employee motivation.

Let's pretend we are a team and we had a great year. We decide to give everyone a $5,000 bonus. Everyone is happy and employee motivation is at an all time high.

A year goes by and the organization did not have such a great year and may be considering laying off some team members. Compared to the previous year, what will the employees expect in terms of a bonus and how will this impact employee motivation?

Certainly disappointment is eminent and employee motivation will flounder. In order to maintain the current employee motivation, the organization would be expected to offer the same bonus as or higher than the previous year.

This is not possible and decreases employee motivation. I draw your attention to the old donkey and carrot story. External employee motivation is never lasting.

Team leaders should focus on the alternative, internal employee motivation. Employee motivation, like success, grows from the inside out and not from the external to the internal.

In order to understand internal employee motivation you need to understand yourself and trust your abilities to carry you forward. This is a key factor in building employee motivation.

What do you want to be, to do or to have in life? Combine your dreams with passion and you will be self motivated. A solid foundation for employee motivation.

Internal or self motivators enable you to demonstrate all the appropriate behaviours. It is inevitable that a confident, hard-working team player, who recognizes the contributions of others and rewards them with acknowledgement, will pass on those behaviours. These positive behaviours will lead directly to employee motivation. As individuals, we reap what we sow.

As a team leader, if you are critical of yourself, you will be critical of others. This is not an acceptable contribution toward employee motivation. However, if you accept the abilities you bring to the table and recognize your achievements, you will be a good leader, a team player and allow your employees to do the job they were hired to do. Recognition for a job well done is strong employee motivation.

You may find it hard to believe but recognition is the most powerful employee motivation of all. Research has shown that there is a stronger need in society today for recognition than there is for sex and money. Now that says something about employee motivation.

Employee motivation is positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement builds our self-esteem. Our self-esteem is depicted by the manner in which we see ourselves. We can either focus internally through our personal beliefs or externally by following the beliefs of others.

Employee motivation starts from within. Lead as you would like to be led. Allow the employee to do the job they have been entrusted to do. Give the employee the recognition for a job well done. Build a strong foundation of challenge, inspiration and trust. Employee motivation is an investment in people and in the company's future.

Employee motivation equals better performance and a willingness to grow. The employee must earn the respect of others and trust their hard work will be acknowledged. These are the simple mechanics to building self-esteem and the key to success. Employee motivation is a giant step forward for any organization.

Let's take a look at other forms of employee motivation. Be complimentary. All individuals strive to do better, to work harder and to learn more if they are complimented in front of their piers on a job well done. This form of employee motivation will in turn be passed on to others.

Employee motivation is focusing on individual strengths. Assign the employee a task he/she performs best. Employee motivation will be realized with enthusiasm and productivity.

Education is of the utmost importance with respect to employee motivation. Education comes in the form of regular team discussions, workshops and seminars. Employee motivation will be increased by sharing the ideas and visions for the future with them. They are enlightened by others striving to get ahead and to make a difference. Employee motivation takes a step forward toward accepting change and setting new goals.

Employee motivation should be exciting. It should bring on enthusiasm and energy. Employee motivation spells success if the foundation consists of encouragement, acknowledgement and enthusiasm. Employee motivation begins with You.

Employee motivation through recognition is positive reinforcement. Imagine the possibilities. The end result is happy, motivated achievers and a business operating with positive enforcements. The internal employee motivation creates the first wave to success and the external employee motivation follows in its wake.

Why is motivation important?
Whether you are trying to achieve something yourself or lead others towards an achievement, the ability to be self-motivated or to motivate is crucial. When we meet people who are regarded as successful or high achievers, it is tempting to assume that they are innately self-driven, or are natural leaders with high levels of motivational ability. This may well be the case, but it is just as likely that they have learned and used some effective techniques for either motivating themselves or to motivate others.

The benefits of motivation to an individual are fairly obvious – people who are motivated tend to be more successful in achieving their personal and professional goals, which in turn has benefits in terms of their self-esteem and confidence. Given that people are usually the most important asset of any organization, motivation is also a critical factor in the overall success of a team or business.

Three golden rules of motivation
Motivation does not take place on its own. In order to be motivated or to motivate others, it is important to remember three golden rules of motivation before considering any specific techniques.

1 Motivation is impossible without clear achievable goals
Motivation and goal setting are inextricably linked. Without a goal or purpose, motivation is meaningless, whilst motivation is a vital part of intentionally achieving any goal. Two of the most basic motivators are to know exactly what you are trying to achieve, and to then go out and achieve it. Not having a clear idea of your goal or not believing that a goal is attainable will severely dent your motivation.

2 Motivation and goals need to be in alignment at every level
How often have you felt that you have been performing well or doing a good job, only to be told by your manager or colleagues that you have been focusing on the wrong thing, that priorities have changed or that you have simply been underperforming? For example, imagine an experienced sales person who has an excellent track record of retaining business with their established customers, but is heavily criticized by their manager for failing to develop as much new business as their less experienced colleague. As a result, the sales person feels alienated, undervalued and ultimately de-motivated. Their performance and results are likely to suffer. The chances are that there has been a lack of dialogue between the manager and the sales person over how individual goals need to fit with the overall goals of the company. If the emphasis is on generating new business, has this been communicated effectively to each sales person, and in a manner which will motivate each of them to succeed?

Every business needs motivated employees in order to be successful and achieve its goals. If employee motivation is not closely matched to these business goals, the chances of success are diminished.

3 Motivation is neither fixed nor infinite
Motivation is not a one-off event. Something which provides motivation at one particular time may not be as effective in the future, due to changes in environment and circumstances. If someone is driven to become the best in their field, how do they maintain their motivation to perform once they reach the pinnacle of their profession? Even if circumstances remain constant, the most powerful motivational factors will lose impact over the course of time. For instance, you may attend a conference and feel energized by a particular speaker or meeting, and leave the event highly motivated to put what you have heard into action. How long will the impact of what you heard last before you slip back into old ways of doing things?

Motivation is a constant process and constantly changes. As an individual or as a leader trying to motivate others, it is vital to remember this.

Pain may sometimes be the reason why people change. Getting bad grades make you realize that you need to study. Debts remind you of your inability to look for a source of income. Being humiliated gives you the ‘push’ to speak up and fight for yourself to save your face from the next embarrassment. It may be a bitter experience, a friend’s tragic story, a great movie, or an inspiring book that will help you to get up and get just the right amount of motivation you need in order to improve yourself.

With all the people trying to pull you down and waiting for you to fail, how can you stay motivated and positive?

Try this A to Z of tips for motivation

A - Achieving your dreams. Avoid negative people, things and places because they will only drag you down. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

B - Believe in your self, and in what you can do. Believe in your possibilities and your dreams. Every advancement of humankind has taken place because someone believed in themselves.

C – Consider all of the angles and aspects of everything you encounter, whether it is people or situations. Motivation comes from strength of purpose. Being able to see both points of view will give you more chance of being successful and keeping those around you motivated too.

D – Don’t give up and don’t give in. Every successful person from J K Rowling to Walt Disney to Sylvester Stallone to Thomas Edison had multiple failures before being successful. Sometimes their failures or rejections ran into the hundreds before they achieved success.

E – Enjoy. Work as if you don’t need money. Dance as if nobody’s watching. Love as if you never cried. Learn as if you’ll live forever. Motivation takes place when people are happy.

F – Family and Friends. Use your family and friends to help you stay motivated. The big football teams have cheerleaders and fans to encourage them. Your family and friends can be your cheerleaders and fans. Use them to keep you going when you feel your motivation drifting.

G – Give that little bit extra. Self improvement happens everywhere all the time, whether you are at home, at work or at school. Anthony Robbins tells us that the difference in effort between excellent and outstanding is miniscule, yet the difference in rewards is massive. Giving that little bit extra can put you into the outstanding.

H – Hang on to your dreams. There may be times when it looks bleak, but hang on to your dreams. The night is darkest just before the dawn. It is at this moment that you are closest to success and 95% of people will give up. Push through this moment and you’ll achieve your dreams.

I – Ignore those who try to destroy you. Don’t get involved in their dramas or toxicity – just walk away. Surround yourself with people who will encourage and support you. Remove those who want to pull you down and watch you fail from your life. You’ll find it much easier to stay motivated.

J – Joy and gratitude. Perhaps two of the fundamentals for motivation and success is to be joyful in what you do and grateful for what you have.

K – Keep pushing forwards no matter how hard life may seem. In the toughest moments you can choose to move forwards or to run away. It’s your decision – one path brings you closer to the success, the other takes you away from it. Which do you want to follow?

L – Learn to love your self. This isn’t as easy as it sounds for most people, but by loving yourself you will be happier and more motivated because you will believe you deserve what you achieve.

M – Make things happen. Motivation and success doesn’t come from sitting in front of the television drinking coke and eating pizza. Take action and you’ll achieve your dreams.

N – Never lie, cheat or steal. Always play a fair game. At the end of the day, if you live a dishonest life, it will come back to you. Living an honest, fair life allows you to be proud of what you do.

O – Open your eyes. Everyone has a set of blinkers that they wear and see everything through them, i.e. how they would like things to be. Look at life with open eyes and see things how they are, and see them how you want them to be. Then take action to make it happen.

P – Practice makes perfect. The more you practice, the better you become. A top sportsman doesn’t reach their status through a single practice or game. They practice harder and longer than anyone else, and as such, are rewarded more than anyone else.

Q – Quitters never win. And winners never quit. So, which do you want to be?

R – Ready yourself. Always be ready to take advantage of the opportunities and situations presented to you. Prepare in advance, and ignore the voice telling you to put it off until tomorrow. Remember, it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark!

S – Stop procrastinating. You can put it all off until tomorrow, but one day there will be no more tomorrows. Start procrastinating about procrastinating and do tomorrows jobs today.

T – Take control of your life. Discipline and self control are synonymous with motivation. So many people believe their lives are out of their control. Look at your life in detail and you’ll discover you have more areas under your control than you think.

U – Understand others. If you know very well how to talk, you should also learn how to listen. You have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Understand others and strive to be understood.

V – Visualise it. Your sub-conscious knows no difference between your imagination and reality, so if you rehearse your success in your mind, then your sub-conscious will believe in it and make it happen.

W – Want it more than anything. Every successful person has had a burning desire to achieve their goals. The Wright brothers didn’t invent the aeroplane because there was nothing on the television. They had a burning desire to succeed and kept going, even in the face of setbacks.

X – X Factor is what will make you different from the others. When you are motivated, you tend to put on “extras” on your life like extra time for family, extra help at work, extra care for friends. This X-Factor sets you aside from the crowd and marks you out for success.

Y – You are unique. No one in this world looks, acts, thinks or talks like you. Value your unique gifts, whatever they are and use them for your success.

Z – Zero in on your dreams and make it happen!!!

Fear and reward are two most commonly used methods to build motivation in someone. But, these methods are temporary. The only lasting thing is self motivation. Motivation actually is the enthusiasm of doing something. It refers to inner feeling, strong desires, and expectation about something. You may sometimes loose the necessary level of the inner drive to get something done. Self motivation is what you need to boost the level of your inner drive to achieve your goals.

Self motivation is a form of self encouragement. You will say to yourself that you have the capacity to do better and eventually get whatever you want in your life. This inner enthusiasm will push you forward until you achieve your set goals. You may not even be aware of any reward in the beginning but you keep working on it. You work on it because your inner strength says that you can attain your goals. This is your will power - the driving force behind your self motivation. Self motivation is a combination of will power, goals and ability to continue attaining the highest level of your success.

You need self motivation to accomplish tasks you have now. Along the way, you may be facing with situations that are discouraging and can bring down your motivational level. You need to keep yourself really focused on your objectives to maintain the level of your self motivation. Here are techniques you can adopt to start acquiring higher motivational level and achieve greater success.

Writing Your Plan

Success does not come easy without any proper plan. Failing to plan is actually planning to fail. Therefore, you must give a greater emphasis on having well prepared plan to achieve your goals. You simply need to have your plan written on a piece of paper. Having your plan clearly written gives you more psychological inner drive to work toward achieving your goals. You create more enthusiasm and can see more clearly how you want to achieve your goals. Thus, your commitments will be much stronger.

When writing down your goals, state very specific terms. For example, if you want to accumulate certain amount of money, state exactly how much you want. You must also set a specific date to fulfill your goals and specific rewards for achieving your goals. Writing is not enough if you do not follow up with some reading. You have to make a point to read your written plan at least twice a day. Once in the morning before you start your day; and one at night just before you go to bed. This simple routine will keep you stay motivated.

Be realistic, things happen in life. Unforeseen circumstances may sometimes require you to make adjustments in your plan. Go ahead and make the necessary adjustments. But, try to maintain realistic limits. Do not make it too easy or too hard for you to achieve. Set it just right to maintain your motivation level.

Visualizing Your Goals

You need to simply make your goals as visual as possible to maintain your motivation at the highest level possible. If your goal is to own an apartment, find pictures of your desired apartment keep them in front of your eyes. Visualizing your goals creates a positive impact on your mind and keeps your motivation surging. When you feel very down, visuals will help you provide the necessary boost to surge your motivation level.

Like the written plan, you have to make a point to see the visuals at least twice a day. The images you see of yourself achieving the goals you desire will instill strong impact in your mind, which will control your actions to maintain your level of motivation.

Controlling Your Feeling

This one is not quite straight forward action. It has to do with your feeling in your mind. You need to control what you feel. Your feeling will reflect your mental attitude and moods. If you feel upset and depressed, you will feel as if everything crashes on you. This feeling reflects on your physical self. You will lose concentration and everything you do will be full of mistakes. You have to learn to start controlling your feeling.

The simplest way will be to start your day with a smile. No doubt this can be fake at times due to things that happen around you, but you have got to master this simple task to ensure that things around you will be pleasant and enjoyable for the rest of the day. You can feel the enthusiasm and energy level soaring. You will be able to stay motivated and spread positive energy around you.

Your mental and physical attitudes work closely. Hence, to stay motivated, learn to develop cheerful and confident characters by simply walking with your face up and smile on it. You will realize that your confidence and self motivation developing. It is probably kind of hard to maintain the action, but with time, once it naturally becomes your way of life, you are able to motivate yourself even during difficult times.

Giving Your Effort A Reward

You need to give yourself a reward for what you have achieved. This one simply acts as an appreciation to yourself in achieving your goals. You have to credit yourself for what you have gone through, your determination and your hard work in ensuring your success.

Earlier I said reward is a temporary method to motivate someone. In this case, a reward is not what keeps you motivated. It is just an element to add flavor to your self motivation exercise. You may want to think of a simple reward that sounds reasonable with what you have achieved. Do not get over excited about this. Meaning, the reward has to be at par with your level of achievement. Take this positively to further enhance your level of self motivation.

Did you ever asked yourself why is sometimes difficult to accomplish some task, even if the prize is good? On the other hand sometimes you are able to do something very hard and for long time, even you will not have direct material benefit. The way of approach to some task depends of a many factors; skills, experience, energy level, time of a day, etc. But one of the most important factors is - the Motivation.

Motivation is something that pushes you toward your goal. If you have motivation for some job, you are working more persistent and longer than usual. But if you are not motivated, you find even the simplest tasks to be difficult, boring and you try to find as many excuses as possible, just to delay or postpone the job.

So, why is motivation that important? Imagine the balloon. It can be of different size, shape, color, painted, etc. But if there is air inside, then you do not have the balloon, but the piece of rubber. So, the balloon needs something to be pumped up, in order to show his real shape. You can find many examples; car needs a fuel, windmill needs a wind, bird needs a sunlight to sing, painter need a motivation - ah, yes, the motivation, in order to paint. Without motivation the canvas and paints will not move themselves.

We can use several factors that can help us to be motivated toward the goal:

Preference for some job can give us a wind in a back. If we prefer to do some job, than we will do it more easily and much faster. Therefore, we must try to head for profession, environment and benefits that come as result, in a way that correspond to our preference.

Job that we do not like; if we have to do something that we dislike, which will happen occasionally, regardless how much we try to avoid it, than we must try to find some indirect sources of motivation. If we rely have to do some digging in your garden, while you do not rely like doing that, than try to find some indirect benefit. That can be vegetables or flowers grown by your hand. The fact that you grew them can be your satisfaction and motivation. Also you can impress somebody important with your work, which can be also your reward. You can find many examples where reward after job can be motivation.

Personal Development can be your motivation. If you do not like doing something too much, still you can learn and progress while you working on it. By developing some skill you can turn something from your weakness to your strength. For example, you might dislike web design and programming, but you want your web site, since you are passionate on some subject and you want to write about it. Design can be technical part that you do not like, while web publishing is something that interest you. If you start working on design, you might expand this skill and knowledge, which makes you more proficient in web publishing business.

Bypass steps that you do not like. Again, let say that you rely like writing and you want to build your web site. But if you really, really hate technical part of building web page, then simply hire somebody to do that job for you. It will cost you some money, but you can save a lot of time and effort. That way you will have more strength and motivation to deal with content of the web.

Set Milestones on your road for your goal. For example, the studying can be complex and long, with many difficult exams. But, as you cannot build house in one day, also you cannot finish your study instantly. Focusing on one exam can bring you the pass. Then focus on a next exam, and so on. Every exam is the milestone on you road to the degree.

Balancing tasks in our life can give you the motivation. If you have a really difficult job during the day, you can source motivation from a pleasant evening that you plan to spend after your job. So, your evening party can be counter balance for a rough day.

Planning of activities can help you to do some activity easier way. If you have a long trip ahead of you, and you are really not in a mood for driving nor you can find any motivation at the destination point, try to split your boring driving. You can stop for lunch at the nice restaurant on your way. Later you can plan to stop at the nice countryside, on your way, and enjoy the view. This way you plan to split your long and boring journey and fill it with more interesting activities. It will give you motivation that you need for the trip.

Timing planned according to your mood pattern can help you to do something more easily. If you plan to start jogging, try to decide what time of a day suits you for your exercise. If you prefer to do jogging at the afternoon, instead early in the morning, than choose your schedule accordingly.

Basically, you can find motivation everywhere. Even if you are not able to find anything significant to motivate you, then find at least something small, but something that you like. Experiment a lot. Doing something differently can help you to do things more easily and efficiently. Use your experience. Use your motivation enablers and try to avoid your blockers. Try to find company if that will help you. Listen music while working something. If you really feel that you can not do something now - then don't. Try to do it later.

If you've made the decision to get some weight off - congratulations! For many people, committing to their own fitness is the most difficult step. But in spite of self-motivation, many people discover they don't know what exercises to incorporate for rapid weight loss.

There are three major sorts of exercise: aerobic exercise, such as jogging; flexibility exercises, such as yoga and other forms of stretching; and strength training, including resistance exercises and weight lifting.

Aerobic and strength training will help you work off the most calories. Because weight loss is dependent on either burning more calories or consuming less, it is best to concentrate on these initially to guarantee your self motivation lasts as you drop pounds.

Generally, thirty minutes of aerobic exercise three times a week is suggested. Increase the duration and frequency as you progress.

But many people whose self-motivation has gotten them to begin an exercise for weight loss program overlook the importance of strength training. Aerobic exercise burns more calories at first, but weight lifting increases muscle mass, and muscle burns more calories than fat. A pound of muscle burns 35 calories a day to function at rest; a pound of fat burns only two calories for the same function.

The fitness consensus used to say that to "build" muscle, you should perform fewer reps (3-5) with heavier weights, and to simply "tone," higher reps (12-15) at lower weights was the best way. But there is no such thing as "toning." Definition that happens with what is incorrectly called toning occurs because you have lost the layer of fat on top of the muscle, making it more visible. The size of the muscle underneath depends on how actively you train.

You must "tear down" the muscle so it can rebuild itself afterward. In fact, you don't build muscle while lifting weights but you do in the days afterward when it's "resting." The general guideline for strength training is beginning with three sets of 8-12 reps at a weight that leaves you nearly incapable of executing the entire set. Then, rest for 30-60 seconds before attempting your next set.

Don't be discouraged if you're unable to do all of the reps on every set. In fact, use that to gauge when to add weight. If you are doing each set without any muscle strain, you will want to add weight.

Self-motivation got you to start, but most have a difficult time maintaining the pace. It helps to know that the source of our motivations is a belief. Think about it: If you didn't believe the gnawing sensation in your stomach meant you were hungry, you would not feel motivated to eat.

Understanding what ideas motivate you is essential to losing weight, because when you feel powerfully motivated, you will exercise consistently. NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a form of self-hypnosis. And there are NLP methods that can build exercise motivation because, over time, desire to exercise for weight loss alone likely will not be enough to keep you going. Exercise hypnosis motivation therapy can help.

Your initial task is identifying the most important things in your life. We call these things your highly valued criteria. Highly valued criteria are usually intangibles: money would not be highly valued criteria, but the freedom, fun, or security that money can buy would be.

Next, establish what you need to believe to feel motivated to exercise. It's vital to keep in mind that logic has nothing to do with belief. Things don’t have to be logical to believe them. You may find you already have a belief that opposes this new idea. That’s okay.

While understanding what motivates us is valuable, hypnosis exercise motivation therapy can put these ideas to work by ensuring self motivation lasts. Hypnosis for motivation does this by changing the computer codes in your brain, so you accept motivational ideas.

Belief systems are based in our unconscious mind, which is like a computer. Computers don't have the ability to reason. The input controls the output. The methods used in exercise hypnosis motivation therapy can make you believe almost anything, as long as you are willing to believe.

You begin by making a picture in your mind's eye that illustrates something you already believe, such as, "I love my children." Then you learn to calibrate the elements or 'Submodalities' of that mental belief picture.

Next, you make a mental movie that illustrates your motivational idea. Let's say your motivational idea is, "If I exercise, then I'll look great and my marriage will get better." Then you learn how to adjust the Submodalities of this mental image to correspond with the Submodalities in your calibrated belief picture. On the other hand, if a belief is holding you back, the same technique can change that belief to doubt.

Self hypnosis for motivation that uses NLP can provide you with something of an internal personal motivator. Using an exercise hypnosis motivation program ensures that the zeal you began with persists until reaching your objective, and then helps you maintain that objective.

Motivation is what keeps the world going. If there was no motivation we would still be in the Stone Age. In fact those people in the Stone Age had enough motivation to cut stones and make weapons out of it. They kept on exploring and tried getting better and better every day. All his wouldn’t have been possible if there was no motivation.
Motivation adds spice to life and it helps in making mankind better. If Sir Albert Einstein didn’t have the motivation we would still probably be using lamps in the night. Einstein had so much motivation that he kept on trying and trying to invent the electric bulb. Einstein succeeded in making the bulb in his 2001st attempt. Can you now imagine the amount of motivation the genius had?
But it’s not possible to always get what you want even after applying all your efforts. Sometimes we have to taste failure and accept it. But in this process a few of us are not able to accept failure and lose interest, particularly in life. This is where motivation plays an important part and proves to be of a lot of help. How is it that after so many failures Einstein was still able to invent the electric bulb? Failures make us fall and we have to rise every time and continue our journey towards success. But after falling to a failure, we need motivation to rise and get back to working towards our goal.
There are different ways in which you can motivate yourself or anyone around you who is depressed and needs motivation. Motivation is needed everywhere in today’s highly competitive world. This includes at work, at home, at school and even in sports. Suppose a child failed in his exams, he would be feeling low and depressed. Sometimes students take drastic steps if they are not able to cope with the failure. There are cases where children have committed suicide because they failed in a particular exam. In order to prevent such mishaps, parents and teachers should come forward and help the child by motivating him. They should encourage and help him get back to normal and give his best shot in the next exam.
One way of motivating, is using the science of hypnosis. When a person is depressed the first thing we need to find out is the reason behind his depression. But sometimes people going through depression are not comfortable in sharing the reason. Here hypnosis can help them. With the help of hypnosis the person needing motivation can be calmed and made to understand that this is not the end. Hypnosis can help people get peace of mind which in turn will help them see things more clearly and in an unbiased way. After undergoing hypnosis treatment the person will be able to think what lead to depression. He can then think of ways which will help him in getting better when he gets on with life.
You can get hypnosis treatment from the Internet media and learn it yourself. It’s very easy. Either buy books or get the Mp3 from on line. Listen to it and learn. So start downloading and learn hypnosis which will help you in curing simple problems of life and live it beautifully.

Good Charlotte had this song "Motivation Proclamation." If anything, the title should be everyone's personal theme. It confirms how motivation can invite all the positive things in life.

When we were kids, we were motivated to do well in games so we would always win. When we were studying, our motivation to study hard was the idea that our parents would reward us. For college graduates, a future job was what motivated us.

Motivation can take us far, we all know that. Losing the motivation to do something is a bad idea . That's why for suicidal people, death is the best option because they already lost the motivation to live.

What is motivation anyway? It is that condition that triggers behavior and impels the person to do something. It is that desire that gives the energy and direction for goals.

We need to know more about motivation as it can empower us more. Here are more information on motivation:

1. What is the importance of motivation?

There are people like motivation theorists who question themselves how influential motivation is on behavior. They still ask themselves if behavior stem from the principles, environmental influences, emotions and personality or if motivation is truly inherent.

Motivation is so important because it increases the response of a person to a certain event. For example, a sudden announcement that the one who can graduate with honors will receive a vacation to Jamaica will urge everyone to study harder.

There was this guy who probably lost the motivation to go on with life. Then one day, he met a girl who instantly motivated him to continue living. That's a clear demonstration on the importance of behavior.

2. What is the relationship between motivation and emotion?

Emotion is entirely different from motivation, that's one thing you need to know. Motivation can be an emotion, yes, but emotion per se needs not any affixed goal. Emotions come out because they are results to human-to-human and human-to-environment interactions. These two are related as you motivate yourself to change your feelings.

3. What is the source of motivation?

We can categorize the source into two: extrinsic or intrinsic. Intrinsic (meaning, within the person) can be subcategorized into the physical, mental (which has the following: conative, affective and cognitive) and spiritual. Extrinsic means outside of the person. 4. What are the sources of motivational needs?

a. Behavior or external

This source is from a stimulus related to another stimulus. It has the rewards and the not-so-good consequences.

b. Social

Don't we all want to belong? This motivational need source means that we need to look for positive models.

c. Biological

It entails the following: sense activation as the senses of touch, smell and taste work themselves out, relieving hunger and thirst and keeping the body's homeostasis.

d. Cognitive

This covers personal dreams, self-efficacy maintenance, control of your life, meeting goals and accomplishing plans.

e. Spiritual

This is about understanding your purpose in life and finding out about faith and the unknown.

5. What are the theories of motivation?

a. Behavioral Motivation Theory

This simply states that behavior is important for motivation.

b. Cognitive Motivation Theory. This states that motivation is equivalent to perceived success probability, success and reward connection and value of goal.

6. How to stay motivated?

Now this is tricky. We always lose step and lose motivation altogether. How to keep it?

a. Take goal setting seriously.

b. Deal with your personal problems head-on.

If it means attending therapy sessions and reading self-help books, do so.

c. Solving the problem yourself.

d. Never lack interest over something you've always been passionate about.

e. Defeat the following self-deprecating behavior patterns like extreme dependence.

f. Never make fear as your motivator.

It will never lead you anywhere.

g. Have fun with your life!

Just being in control with your life and enjoying each moment will motivate you to do the best in every activity you find yourself in. Whether it is as menial as washing the dishes or as important as finishing college, motivation always leads you to the end, to your desired result. You can also be your friend's motivator! Pep them up, inspire them and you will see what satisfaction can that bring!

Motivation can be defined in numerous ways, but there

are two basic definitions or descriptions. It can be

defined as the main reason or reasons that individuals

partake in a certain behavior, specifically human

behavior pursuant to the study of psychology or

neuropsychology. It can also be defined as the driving

force that initiates and drives an individual’s behavior.

It is the internal energy that propels us to achieve our

goals. Typically, it is considered to be a dynamic state

of mind not concerned with personality.

There are three aspects of human behavior that

motivation is based and founded in:

1. arousal of behavior
2. direction of behavior
3. persistence of behavior

Arousal of behavior relates to a specific thing that

activates behavior whereas direction of behavior

relates to what is responsible for directing the behavior.

Persistence of behavior relates to how the behavior is

sustained.

What drives an individual to be successful is referred

to as motive. Usually, all motives fall into one of three

categories and are considered to be physiological or

psychological in nature:

1. homeostatic motives – hunger, respiration, thirst, etc.

2. nonhomeostatic motives – curiosity about the environment, seeking shelter, etc.

3. learned or social motives – achievement, approval, power, social affiliation, etc

In any endeavor that an individual undertakes,

motivation (or the lack thereof) is the key element

behind the success or failure of the endeavor. It plays

a key role in the workplace where the effective

performance of an employee is concerned.

Management or supervisory personnel have a direct

impact and play a significant role in employee

motivation in that they employ different motivational

techniques to raise productivity levels. It also follows

that this has a direct effect on the cooperation levels

between the employer and the employee.

Motivation can also be classified as

1. negative or positive
2. obvious or subtle
3. intangible or tangible

Education or learning is also interrelated with

motivation and instructors will oftentimes employ

motivational techniques to get their students to learn. It

can benefit the student by making them more

competent as well as encouraging confidence and the

ability to solve problems.

Self-motivation has also been classified into two

different types:

1. Extrinsic – generated by external factors

2. Intrinsic – generated by internal sensations and is

longer-lasting than extrinsic

Self-motivation is considered to be intrinsic in nature,

and originates from an individual’s internal drives. It is

the basis for overcoming obstacles in the path of

achieving one’s goals. Additionally, certain external

factors are responsible for driving a person into

undertaking a new project or to move in a positive

direction. Characteristically, self-motivation is

comprised of three factors:

1. beliefs
2. desires
3. values

Since an individual cannot rely on others for motivation,

self-motivation has to come from within. It plays a key

role wherein the individual gathers the courage and

strength to achieve certain goals, and is essential for

developing new undertakings or making a positive

change in one’s lifestyle. Training programs have been

proven to be the best way to educate oneself in order

to improve motivation and self-motivation.

Motivation, motivation what is motivation! Many people think they know what motivation is, but do they? A little research will show you that the dictionary definition of motivation is “the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behaviour”. Ask people to define motivation, very few will give such a concise response. This is because at some level, motivation is intrinsically involved with every aspect of our lives. We have to have a certain level of motivation to achieve anything from the simplest tasks such as getting out of bed or going shopping, through to life goals such as having a successful career. Unfortunately, most people see motivation, as part of the destination rather than the fuel that is needed to get us to reach our chosen destination.

Not understanding what motivation is usually leads to disappointment in life either on a spiritual or materialistic level. One of the most common areas where the lack of a clear definition of what motivation is occurs in the area of goal setting. We all know and understand the concept of setting goals and working towards them to achieve what we want in life, but if you speak to any number of people about setting and achieving goals, they will tell you that their goals motivate them to achieve what they really want out of life. This fundamental confusion over what motivation is often leads to people not achieving their goals and full potential, in fact it often leads to greater de-motivation, as after each setback the belief in the goal becomes less strong leading to a perceived lower level of motivation to achieve the goal. It becomes a vicious circle. It is a situation that many of us have faced and the difficulties that this kind of position brings. It takes a long time for us to realise that goals and motivation are not the same and we should not treat them as such.

When you set your goals you’re laying out the route and the destination you want to get to. When we are setting goals we are telling ourselves what do we want in life and how are we going to get there. What steps do we need to take? A list of goals will always allow us to move forward and give us a purpose in life, but they are not motivation in themselves.

Motivation is the fuel that inspires us to reach are goals and desires and allows us to keep getting up and moving towards our goals whenever we have a setback. Getting motivated and staying motivated gives us the energy we need to reach our goals in the shortest time possible. Motivation is required to meet our goals and goals are required to give purpose to our motivation. The two work hand in hand. If you get the motivation right you can achieve anything. So think seriously about how to get motivated and stay motivated so you can achieve whatever you desire.

In all efforts toward success, motivation plays a crucial part. However, this is a very vague concept that it easily gets lost in the equation. So, what is motivation?

According to scientific studies, motivation is necessary in order to energize performance and achieve responses. However, it remains unclear as to whether motivation should come first or secondary to all behavior. Many people associate motivation with emotion. However, humans are also capable of controlling emotional responses on given circumstances. Therefore, your sense of motivation drastically influences how you feel and the way you perform.

The Importance of Motivation

Motivation is important in everything you do: whether at home, school, or at work. The practice and theory involved in motivating people encompasses various disciplines, mostly involving the study of human nature. Hence, it is a very complex concept in itself, knowing that you are dealing with dynamic entities in humans.

According to various researches, motivated people are more productive as compared to those who are not. Motivation in doing something is equal to their drive, which can either by stimulated by internal or external factors.

Many would consider function to be a product of both motivation and your ability.

How To Stay Motivated?

These are basic rules that you must follow in order to keep yourself and the people around you motivated:

1.Set a goal and path. Creating paths that lead to your goal helps you accomplish the tiny goals you have. Then, you can work your way towards the bigger goals.

2.Complete what you have started. Develop a habit of finishing off a task before moving on to the next. If not, then you will form the unhealthy habit of jumping from one task to the next, until you end up accomplishing nothing.

3.Find support. Find people who share your interest or are going through the same dilemmas as you. Having someone who understands you will keep you motivated.

4.Keep learning. Whether be it from your mistakes or others, or from the things you encounter on your day to day life, turn every experience into a lesson.

5.Utilize your natural talent. This must work in harmony with your efforts to learn more knowledge, so you always perform your best and you keep yourself motivated.

Keeping Others Motivated

Knowledge of yourself and your situation will enable you to control the circumstances in your life and devise ways to keep your motivation level on a high. However, dealing with others is a different thing. Mainly because you cannot control the way they feel nor the way their minds work. The same applies for someone who have subordinates in the workplace; hence, you should take note of the following principles to make sure that the people who work for you are motivated as well:

-always be willing to provide for their needs
-practice strict but just rules within the workplace
-avoid favoritism, instead treat everyone equally
-provide for your employee's needs
-set work related goals that they can aim for
-recognize or reward good performance

Pertaining to the last on the list of principles, rewards must not necessarily come in concrete form. Even recognition or salutation for an excellent job on a task would create this mindset that they now have established a standard on the boss' mind when it comes to their work. Hence, they will be energized into living up to that standard, if not excel them.

Since motivation is an essential part in your everyday dealings, make sure to follow measures that maintain yours while also helping others stay motivated.

Does motivation and goal setting go together? Can motivation and goal setting propel you to your goals? What is more important goal setting or motivation? Continue reading to find out the answers to these important questions.

* A Look At Motivation And Goal Setting And Achieving Success
When we take a look at motivation and goal setting, what are they exactly? If we think of motivation, and consider that motivation is fuel. Then goal setting is guiding that fuel in a given direction.

So, which is more important in motivation and goal setting? They both go hand in hand. The motivation is needed so you can get off the ground and take action. Without a goal there is no need to be motivated, after all what would you be motivated about?!

* Why!
If your level of motivation dictates whether you will even see your goal, how are you going to get motivated? The answer is your why. Why do you want this goal in the first place? Your level of motivation will be born from your why.

Why do you want that house, why do you want the million dollars, why do you want a certain type of woman? Why? Asking these questions will give you a reason to continue. So many people often will simply leave it at 'I want to get rich', but this has no level of motivation, and ultimately they fail. Symbols are not things that give us long term motivation.

* Getting More Motivated
We now know that motivation is a key ingredient. Yes, motivation and goal setting go together, but there is a difference. Your goal could take a few seconds of your time to think about or it could take an hour, a day, week or even years, but your motivation must be constant.

Getting more motivated requires several points to consider. These are your questions. A good place is to begin with your why. This acts as a litmus test also. Knowing your why, when setting your goals, you will get motivated. However, if you feel that you can't get motivated, then consider whether this is simply wanting things that others want, and not what we want. Everyone wants to get rich, but maybe you don't. Maybe you do want it, and have real reasons. This will give you the motivation to achieve the results.

Results are born out of motivation, and your motivation and goal setting go hand in hand. You must know why you want something, so you can achieve it. Far too many people hope, few try, and even fewer succeed. Many who try never succeed because there thoughts are simply materialistic. No, you don't want to eat, you want to eat because it gives you nutrition to live another day.
